This was barely criticism, it’s acknowledging data showing half the overnight only shelters are empty & an offer from Multnomah County to help troubleshoot when MultCo 24/7 shelters are over 90% capacity. Mayor responds by insinuating the County wants people to die on the street. So inappropriate.

Today’s O editorial basically says “City shelters should be run like MultCo shelters” but they would never admit it.

MultCo shelters:
- 24/7 w/ support services
- 86% capacity
- most have good neighbor agreements
- high retention rates for people moved into supportive housing
