It's obviously inspired by and an evolution of Ogre Battle, but they've brought in so much from games like Fire Emblem.
But my favourite thing is that it ACTUALLY finds a great use for FFXIII's gambit system.
All battles are pre-programmed, and it's so satisfying to see your concepts play out.

I started playing Unicorn Overlord the other day. I forgot I'd bought a physical copy a while back.
This game should be so much bigger than it is.
I'm just getting into it, but it truly is incredible. And when you think it doesn't get deeper, layers just keep getting unfurled.

Yeah, almost everything you see would've been done with placeholders or "block-ins" to get it in and get the point across quickly, then you iterate. and usually everything is replaced.
But I assume it's a combination of just inexperience (almost everyone had no experience) and moving quickly.

Right, but like I said, it would've been many years ago, not like recently when this was all less common knowledge. There was a time when literally everyone was testing stuff.
I'm the staunchest critic of AI, but also there's no reason to condemn someone for something without further context.

I wouldn't be, tbh. I see this as a really easy goof. Working in game dev, it's really not uncommon to use some random shit as placeholders and forget to replace them. This would've been years ago when impact was less known.
I just straight up put in Frodo/Gimli/Legolas heads as icons. It happens.

That said, it's just as much work to grab random newspaper articles as placeholders, and it would be more obvious that they need to be replaced.

As much of an anti-AI guy I am, I don't have THAT much of a problem with this, aside from the mainstream tools existing in the first place. Forgetting to remove it, and then patching it out is totally the right response, especially as a game *known* for its artistry.

It's borderline impossible to use AI for a lot of the vistas/3D environments, especially at the quality level they delivered (as someone who makes 3D game environments for a living).

I don't know specifically about this applying to a rail card, but often it's because, especially when you live together, your finances are going to be tied together.
That said, could you not just... lie? and then give it to whoever you want? Are they checking your home or something?

The America that once was, will never again be, and globally y'alls reputation is completely destroyed. There won't be any fixing these problems. It'll either collapse, or be a shadow of what it was.
Short of full-blown systematic government dismantling, there's no coming back.
