#MothsMatter 🥰
Give them a helping hand and plant native 🌿
The exhibition all finished. There’s a bit of sadness when selling paintings, as well as the pleasure, having lived with these moffs for a while. They looked good in their vintage frames though. All in all a successful exhibition and lots of people learned more about moths!

Likely my last trap 🤔 was surprisingly productive last night compared to recent ones, with 18:9 including 2NFGs - Gem and 2 Mottled Umbers (can’t believe I’ve never seen this one before) and NFYs Diamondback and 3 December Moths, (my total in 2024)
Also FThorn, Turnip, Blair’s SK, R-G Carpet x3

A single Palpita vitrealis, Silver Y, Turnips and White-points, Yellow-line Quaker, Blair’s Shoulder-knot, R-G Carpet and some LBAMs made 12:9 for me to the light last night VC33 Stroud
Oh, and another late Uncertain for @ruthnewby.bsky.social

Phew! It’s okay everyone, he’s turned up. A bit late.
So all is well with the world. I hope he appreciates the amount of electricity I used in my perseverance to catch him though 😅

Pic 1-
a) Chuckitoverthehedge Moth
b) Clancy’s Rustic (not at all likely)
c) Neglected Rustic (almost impossible)
d) Don’t be bloody daft, it’s a washed out PMW

Pic 2-
The mystery with a PMW

I recorded this as PMW on 10/10 but I couldn’t let it lie 😅

A Triphosa dubitata is not to be sneezed at but it was in a tricky spot behind the umbrella strut and I fumbled the pottage 🤧
It would have been a NFG record, although I did manage to capture another NFG, albeit common, Chestnut
16/10/25 23:13 Also Black Rusticsx2, Blair’sx2, MdJ, Turnipx4 #teammoth
October 16, 2025 at 10:43 AM
Like buses, 6 of the 12 species to light last night came in threes. 29 moths overall, White-point, R-G carpet, Beaded Chestnut, Vine’s Rustic, CMC, PMW LYU and singles of SSD, Blair’s Shoulder-knot and Green-brindled Crescent (NFY) #teammoth
