the same goes for art, movies, music, any sort of thing really

looking to the past, there were discussion forums or magazines that released often that clued people in to new releases, much like how 'game showcases' exist now. fans can't seek out what they don't know exists

In all seriousness, publishers are going to have to figure out how to market books in the post-social-media landscape. That should be an implicit part of their job. What authors/artists can do on their own is increasingly limited and siloed.

"KAAAAAAV!!" Exclaims Snowsie. The Teal and pink tiger runs frantically phone in hand to their partner Kav.

The Blue and white moth/bull hybrid is calmly sitting on the couch and calmy says "yeeeeeeeess my love?~"

"I just looked up side effects for my meds and it's REAL BAD!!" Snowsie exclaims while holding their phone right in Kav's face. Their expression is only getting more worried

Kav reads the symptoms out "Depression, suicidal ideation, panic attacks?? Oh honey that sounds SERIOUS!!"

"NO it's EVEN WORSE" Snowsie points directly at their phone, their face now contorted into a pouty grimace "LOOK IT COULD CAUSE HARM TO THE BABY!!! I'M THE BABY!!!" on their phone is text circled in red, likely a warning for pregnant mothers taking the medication.

Only now realizing the gravity of the situation, Kav feels panic set in "OH NO!!! YOU'RE THE BABY AND IT'S HARMING YOU" he exclaims, Eyes wide with fear for his partner palms firmly planted on either side of his head"

Snowsie now becoming weak and feeble can only mime the words back "I-I'm the baby...and....and it's-it's harm....harming...meeeee" The medication seems to finally be affecting said baby.

Kav's expression goes from panic to horror watching his partner collapse to the ground unable to grasp the terrible reality unfolding before him

"ohhhhhhhhhh........." Snowsie's life now fades away with their last feeble breath escaping in a pained moan. As their life fades so does their body as it disintegrates into dust only leaving behind the rainbow bell collar they had worn up until their death.

Struck with grief, Kav kneels before what was once his lover grasping at the pile of dust. He screams into the void, Snowsie's body falls through the cracks of his fingers like grains of sand.
