A little art #tutorial

ALWAYS FLIP YOUR CANVAS

Your mins fills in certain details when you draw. Flipping the canvas can help spot inconsistencies.

It takes a while to get used to. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED if you spot mistakes! It's NATURAL.
The picture is not perfect even AFTER the corrections, but the point is to achieve a balance that YOU think looks right. Many programs have a different keyboard shortcut for FLIP. it is important to set it to something EASY, so you can move QUICKLY (kind of like CTRL+Z for "undo") I would recommend a SIDE PERIPHERAL, such as a Razer Nostromo or Tartarus V2, which allow you to have a handy side device full of ALL your programmed shortcuts. It also allows you to have your hand out of the way.

Renamon/Krystal AV TF sequence. This took much longer than I thought it would, but here we go. Gonna work on smaller things and more specific practice for a bit to unclench, I think.

screenshot of a tumblr post from user “wildmansters” The thing that really boils my potatoes about Al in general is that I have been a creative professional for over a decade now and the devil has ALWAYS been in the details. Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.

tumblr user nightmare-from-heaven: Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out. If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff. Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else. That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag. Give your brain a Daily Dose Of De-Frag.
