As a trans survivor of CSA, I can’t explain how much of a gut punch this is. Propoganda 101– accuse and confuse.
It was never about us. It was always so they can further the capitalist patriarchy, which sexualizes and commodifies children.

I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

I think we’re all trying to navigate this ever present feeling of fear, panic, and dread.
But somehow also have to continue to work, create, and promote ourselves. My brain only wants to focus a couple of days per week. How do y’all manage to get yourself into “work mode?” Looking for suggestions.

This past week, more than any other, I've wanted to avoid social media. It's hard when your identity has been politicized, but I chose a career in marketing where I have to learn to deal with it.
My compromise is to spend more time in spaces that have made me feel welcome and valued. Like here.

In 1977, Disabled activists occupied the Federal Building in San Francisco to demand the passage of Section 504— legislation to protect against disability discrimination.When the building was cordoned off, in an effort to starve activists out, The Black Panthers *Broke In* to deliver them hot meals.

I just want to brag on @robertwest.bsky.social for a second. They chose the 10K goal for August’s RDC and hit it last night. Then, they told me they're only like three chapters from finishing their first draft and I'm so proud. It shows that having a place to track your progress is so motivating.

I'm surprised that nobody has launched a Gen AI-free web browser yet — one that filters out AI images and text (and will never do those little "AI answer" things).
I know it would inevitably have some error rate, but assuming it did a serviceable job, I'd pay money for that.

I was thinking about all the reasons I left nursing. The harm it did to my body, sure, but what it tried to do to my soul was worse.
We tell people on day one “do no harm” and then ask them to participate in a health system that perpetuates unnecessary harm to our most vulnerable.

If we all had the same skin colour, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and abilities, there would be people who would group us by finger length, eye colour, head shape, etc., because they just want to oppress and exploit.
