El análisis del impacto histórico de la antropización es clave para entender el proceso de cambio global. No obstante, este impacto en los sistemas marinos y costeros no ha sido analizado en profundidad, siendo importante como forma de subsistencia basada en una economía azul de algunas sociedades; ¿Cómo impactó la actividad preindustrial en los entornos marinos? ¿Cuáles fueron los límites de sostenibilidad de ciertas actividades? ¿Qué nivel de impacto en entornos marinos provocó el desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías? Los proyectos bluePALEOeconomy, ARCHAEOALGAE y ARVCODA tienen como objetivo analizar toda estas cuestiones dentro de los sistemas socioecológicos costeros a lo largo del tiempo mediante el uso de la ciencia de datos. Para ello, se plantean dos casos de estudio enfocados en distintas formas de economía marina: Atacama (Chile) y el Golfo de León en el Mediterráneo. El objetivo será integrar diferentes metodologías con el análisis arqueológico a fin de entender y analizar la interacción entre las comunidades humanas y los ecosistemas marinos y costeros. Dentro de este proyecto, se plantea un análisis mediante el uso de los sistemas de información geográfica (GIS) para el análisis de las economías costeras. Los objetivos serán: a) construir una base de datos donde se incluyan datos espaciales de yacimientos costeros de Atacama y el Mediterráneo, así como b) implementar herramientas en GIS para el análisis de la relación entre asentamientos humanos, disponibilidad de recursos marinos y recursos consumidos asociados a tecnologías específicas. Este trabajo está dirigido a reforzar la investigación en recursos marinos y costeros mediante el uso de una metodología científica en combinación con técnicas computacionales, siendo un rol fundamental para el fortalecimiento de la dimensión espacial del proyecto y contribuir a la comprensión de la sostenibilidad de los ecosistemas en economías preindustriales.
