This is the hat the 5 year old who was detained was wearing. He was removed from the car by ICE and asked to knock at his home to be let in to see if anyone else was in the home.

For those unaware.

Congress grills health insurance CEOs over high pay
Congress grills health insurance CEOs over high pay
Bipartisan House lawmakers on a key health committee want to know: Why are health insurance CEOs’ salaries so high while their customers struggle to pay for care? Lawmakers posed the question to five health insurance CEOs testifying before the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee on health care affordability Thursday. Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) asked one of the CEOs, David Joyner of CVS Health, why the company spent $41 million to compensate Joyner and a colleague in 2024. “This is enough to cover the premiums for thousands of American families. How do you justify getting paid that much when so many of your patients struggle to afford skyrocketing premiums?” Carter said. Joyner responded: “That was not my compensation you referenced. This past year, my compensation was $17 million, of which $1.1 [million] was my base salary. The rest is long-term incentives.” He added that he returned his bonus last year to a relief fund for CVS Health employees. “I just met with some pharmacists out there who want to say, ‘You’re welcome.’ They helped pay your salary,” Carter fired back. Democratic California Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragán piled onto the criticism of the CEOs’ salaries, noting that they receive stock options or performance bonuses, which could incentivize them to prioritize company performance and shareholders over patients. Her constituents want to know why the CEOs “make so much,” Barragán added, while patients “stretch every penny and dime to buy health care just to have the claim denied.” Lead Art: Rep. Thanks To Trump, Verizon Immediately Starts Making It Harder To Switch Mobile Carriers
Last week we noted how the Trump FCC, at the direct request of wireless phone giants, destroyed popular rules making it easier and cheaper to switch wireless carriers. The rules, applied via spectrum acquisition and merger conditions, required that Verizon unlock your phone within 60 days after purchase so you could easily switch to competitors. Verizon, as we've long established, hates competition, and immediately got to work lobbying the Trump administration to destroy the rules.
