They're a blight, in my opinion, Sara, and an eyesore blocking the view of an otherwise coastal seaport working town.

Changes the character of the Old Port entirely when they dock here. A lot of folks avoid the area because of the cruise ships.

The Graham for Senate campaign has organized several No On 1 canvassing events. Platner was/is part of helping organize Save Maine Absentee Voting in some capacity, perhaps only as volunteer. No idea, really though he's in an early image of theirs on their site.

I believe if more people, especially cruise ship customers, knew more about the impact on the environment, local communities, and potentially themselves, they may think again about welcoming them into their towns, or spending what they do to go on cruises.

These cruise ships pollute our air. We can see and smell the billowing exhaust.

But did you know that they are also polluting our water?

Their scrubber wash causes a witches’ brew of chemical discharge directly into Casco Bay.

I've railed against the homogenization of America for decades. Though they still exist, places one can travel to w/out fast food & big box stores is diminishing rapidly.

Dollar stores are often first to open in small communities. No McD's or drugstore chain for 15 miles, but we have a dollar store.
