put out a free archival release of most of my soundcloud music from 2011-13, from my PxTone work (the Cave Story synth) to stuff written circa-Anodyne 1, including a handful of piano songs, covers, etc. Meant to have this out in 2020..better late than never!

oh wait. Prey is also a big inspiration on OoP. Neuromods inspired how I'm handling XP. (it is an item you find in world.) And Prey has probably the *best* crafting system of any game, imo. The imsim approach to game design is also something I aspire to. I would place that above FF7.

Ginger Snap has 3 very clear ones. Kirby 64(elemental combinations), Bomberman 64(the structure of the game), and the Megaman series(two playable characters, etc.).

The fourth would be... Ape Escape? I guess. It's my favorite 3d platformer.

Five years ago, I started a project that was everything you aren't supposed to do.

A big, hours-long single player action game with cutscenes and side quests galore.

After release last year, I've more than doubled the size of the game, and I'm not done yet.

It's a great little experiment, imo. The "combat" is grabbing shit and throwing it at other shit, but there are a bunch of interactions between things, so it's like being a zoo manager. The game is full of minigames and side content. The story is whack. The english VA is atrocious.
