Don't mean to feel exasperated, but Germans will happily go to Bali for months for a yoga sabbatical but god forbid they're in another tropical paradise for a few weeks to learn job skills for the 21st century. ⬇️ Everything wrong with the European economy, right here:
🇩🇪🇹🇼 German workers do not want to work at Taiwanese firms, "which may require employees to travel to Taiwan for weeks or months of training... Mr. Tu estimated that he needed to hire 20 locals. So far, he said, he does not have a single German employee."

Trump's numbers are tanking and he knows Mamdani's a winner and inviting him to the White House creates a positive association. Mamdani needs to make sure Trump won't send federal troops into NYC. As the Chinese would say, this meeting is a win-win.

YOU MUST TAKE PART IN REVOLUTION is fiction — but a lot of nerdy research went into it, including drawing on serious war games scenarios, as I explain in this clip from our Literaturhaus Berlin talk! 📺 WATCH: bit.ly/libe-revolution

It is wild to be in Germany watching Americans acting like absolute psychos because they confuse social democracy with communism. Mamdani's economic policy is like the very boring, centrist SPD here or something.

Mamdani's victory wasn't only a repudiation of an old and exhausted political establishment in the city, it was also a triumph over the framing power of the political press, and none more so than the New York Times, whose coverage and editorials worked relentlessly to dampen his appeal.
