I just gave up an hour of my life listening to my Congresswoman spreading lies and misinformation. My blood pressure is waaaay up. Since I didn't get to ask a question, I emailed it instead. #Iowa

Email to Rep. Miller-Meeks:
I just listened to your telephone town hall, and I have two questions I was not able to ask.
First, you made numerous divisive statements on nearly every topic discussed about the Democrats. My question is, do you represent all your constituents, including the ones that are Democrats? Your statements were partisan and offensive.
Second, my family is directly impacted by the shutdown, and we are not sure we can pay our mortgage next month. We need the shutdown to end, but not at the cost of our health insurance premiums doubling, or at the cost of our rural healthcare system collapsing. Will you negotiate with the Democrats to find a compromise and end the shutdown? A compromise could be to add income limits to the health insurance premium tax credit, which you said is needed.
Please STOP the partisan blame-game, and negotiate....like you're supposed to.
Also, your poll question is blatantly partisan and misleading. The Democrats ARE NOT proposing illegal aliens should be eligible for Medicaid. Stop pretending that the shutdown is about that, and stop spreading lies.

Congresswoman Miller-Meeks promised a telephone town hall (whatever that is). Despite registering, I was somehow left off the invite, but was able to get on the call thanks to Johnson County Democrats sharing the number.
