I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

It’s been there for more than 50 years, and does big takeout and delivery business. The dark paint job is relatively recent.

As we begin the 1st few weeks of classes, a reminder that FSSP hosts a large collection of classroom-ready documents related to slavery & its destruction. These first-hand testimonies of enslaved people, Black soldiers, & officials give life to lessons on slavery & the contested arc of emancipation.

Pets are family too, and losing your mom doesn’t erase the pain of losing Linus. 💔

I was updating another @stanchion.bsky.social title on StoryGraph and noticed that TLAT has its first review! Please, if you read the book and liked it, consider sharing your thoughts with the reading community!

I’d say you can’t lie by accident because lying involves an intent to deceive. But you can certainly be wrong or speak falsely by accident. And you could probably deceive with a question.

Note how the subhead presupposes that you can “own” a human being. Maybe try “enslaver”? If you want to be polite and all.

I’ve always believed — a belief held up by experience — that it will always snow at least once in April. Maybe now it’ll be done for the season.

American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg. theatln.tc/IuULQFiY
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.
