On Thanksgiving, I think we should all, as a family, watch THE LAST WALTZ. It’s the first Thanksgiving with all the members of The Band gone.

"You want this ? YOU WANT THIS ? Then you're gonna have to pry it from my cold dead hands......" (Or maybe you could just buy it?)
It's Tina's birthday tomorrow. Three quarters of a century of greatness.
Once In A Lifetime, indeed. Now ending this week's Late Show.

European Sun - with Steve Miles' name above the door - have a new release on Skepwax due in January.
When Britain Was Great, it's called. It has a bona fide epic called School Report. Seventeen minutes long. It could have been a mini series.
A sample of it is now on the Late Show.

There were some nights that Ian Brown amazed even himself at his ability to catch tambourines thrown from the audience.
His acronymatastic F.E.A.R. is now on the Late Show.

Chanel Beads, whose new release - the excellent The Coward Forgets His Nightmare' - is now on the Late Show.

The Heartbreakers, with not a care in the world. Apart from Billy Rath, who was looking over the accounts earlier.
They're on the new Cherry Red box set of CBGB related acts. Due in January.
It has Born To Lose on it, and so does the LSwMB.
Weird, eh?

it's bar italia, caught taking home pens from the office again.
New record is great - omni shambles. Not sure of the significance of it being two words instead of one. And maybe the first musical title to originate in The Thick Of It.
Now on the LSwMB

Company and Shirley.
Company being Jesus. Jesus Alvarez. Shirley being Shirley Goodman.
The hit being Shame Shame Shame.
Mick and the lads did a great version - aired on the LS last month - but the original is a work of art too.

As this man has also been a member of my two all-time favourite bands, how could I feel anything less than obliged to read his memoir, pronto?
So .... I'm just starting Mike Joyce's memoir 'The Drums'. Are the chapter titles actual songs or do they just read like they are?
The demo version of Frankly Mr Shankly now on the Late Show and sounding brilliantly clear and calm.

Sometime and somewhere half a century ago. Mojo has a great article about it, along with the recording of Black And Blue.

A welcome return , of course.
And sounding as excellent as ever.
I would guess the choice of train station is connected to the murder of Inge Maria Hauser, which has influenced Keeley's music in the past. I could be wrong.
Now on the radio round here

Big Audio And The Dynamites!!
To honour the 120th anniversary of Albert's paper on mass and energy and light which gave us the notion that Energy is basically the MC5, the Late Show plays B.A.D.'s finest physics lesson....

It even happens in Norway with their pop stars. Nothing Personal's new release, Wildflower now on the Late Show. And sounding in focus.

I remember this on Chiswick in 1978 and my friend Vinny buying it. I don't remember reading the small print which tells us that Huey 'Piano' Smith recorded it first and Frankie's version is just his voice slapped over Huey's backing track.
Still..
A rockin' record now on the LSwMB.
