I bought These Foolish Things in Woolies about a million years ago.
It was actually a musical education for a young teen.

Just popped up on Beeb 4. Hadn't heard this before.

It was your good self who made me aware of the "Bad Faith Threshold" with a quote-post of @carolinepennock.bsky.social.

I guess your own post has now crossed it.

Ah, I see this post has crossed the Bad Faith Threshold: that indefinable moment on social media when people stop behaving as if you’re a normal human person who, say, loves your child and is making a mildly humorous observation, and start responding with wild criticisms and imagined slights.

Yesterday my eleven-year-old daughter claimed that Taylor Swift had embraced a range of genres which included punk. The retribution was swift and included considerable mockery and a lesson on punk which probably took longer than she would have liked.

My folks took me to see Francie & Josie on my birthday in the early 70s. It turned out they had sent in a request and to my utter mortification F&J wished me happy birthday during the show. I had to stand up with a spotlight on me. Never have I beamed to brightly.

We'll lose Tounekti, too.

And Balikwisha's brother has declared for DR Congo, so I hope that doesn't give him, or them, any ideas.

Very late to the show this week (and still working) but this is a lovely way to start to wind down.

"I" before "A", but only after "T".

Like Martian. Which might explain a lot.

I have that (in a box in my garage, these days). Some great covers on there.

"The Stranglers' version of 'Walk On By' is better than the original" is a verbal hand-grenade in the right company.

Pull pin and retreat. 😄

Do you know the Green Day/Stiff Little Fingers scene in "High Fidelity"?
When I watched the movie with my daughters they howled at it, because their dear old Dad had given almost the exact same speech some years before 😁

The year is 2037.

Celtic trail 1-0 in the 80th minute to Inter Bavaria Coachworks in the first qualifying round of the Conference League.

Manager Callum McGregor looks along his subs' bench and makes his decision.

He turns to his assistant, John Kennedy.

Bananarama attended the funeral.

"Among the wreaths were tributes from musicians and bands including Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Altered Images and The Jam."

What an admirably clear statement from the Jewish Leadership Council, especially when all of those involved must surely have been dealing with so many other urgent challenges in safety, security and grief + shock today before having this further divisive and distracting intervention to address too.

Classic - went looking for it the other day.

After Gary Larson published the cartoon, he and Goodall became good friends.
