Fun fact: in the early 2000s when eBay was experiencing explosive growth, the city could not supply any more power to their datacenter. At that point, the company decided to view software optimizations as a power savings effort.

The entire AI industry is still in the wild west stage. At some point, one would hope, the energy consumed will drop as efficiency improves.

Until then, lets go ahead and further stress an already overloaded energy grid and have AI bots keep telling users Hitter was a nice guy & rode unicorns

Can we please start screening individuals who want to start social media companies for dark triad personality traits?

The major sites are all run by either socially maladapted individuals or psychopaths. Regardless, you are only a resource to them due to their lack of empathy.

Since I have full medical power of attorney with my aunt, I wanted to ensure her insurance company, Aetna, was made aware of the fact.

In 2025, the options are either mail them in, or fax. You know there's this new fangled thing call email used to exchange documents.

Dear car manufactures, please stop wasting money on including navigation software. It's certainly not a value added feature, nor is it welcomed. Most folks have smartphones loaded with their favorite navigation app.

It’s a bit depressing—turns out shitty EDM is a universal constant.

The apocalypse is near. Today is the first time I have taken my aunt out to a medical appointment (1 of way too many) and she did not complain it's cold nor want a coat.

(This is the same woman who complains the apt is too cold sometimes when the temp is set to 75F.)

OK Go has released some of the most creative and original music videos out there. Most go viral very quickly. But, does anyone actually own their albums, and listen to their music on a regular basis?

All the money we spend on ICE, border patrols, immigration processing, and god knows what else, could be used to improve the countries the immigrants are coming from. You know, maybe stabilize the governments, improve their economy to create a mutually beneficial trading partner. Just a thought.

“Everyone should have a plan before travel,” EFF’s Sophia Cope told @miamiherald.com. If an officer wants a device unlocked, “the traveler has to know what they’re going to do in that moment, either they’re going to comply or they’re not going to comply.”
Planning a trip abroad? Here’s how to protect the data on your devices at U.S. border searches
Border agents do not need a warrant to conduct searches of cell phones, laptops or other electronic devices when you’re entering the country.

Nerd alert -

You know how in Star Trek very few artists have actually been depicted? The Holodeck might explain why. If a device can create any object in the style of a beloved artist, or even synthesize a new style, that may discourage people from pursuing artistic endeavors.
