Alex Sarr plays so much bigger now than he did as a rookie. He's stronger, but also increasingly knows how to use his strength more effectively. Kristaps Porzingis wanted nothing to do with him tonight.

Last night was concerning.
The Washington Wizards lost their 11th straight game last night, leading to a players-only meeting. How much longer can the team keep losing like this without stunting its youngsters' development? Are they learning how to win? Story in @theathletic.com:

Can the Wizards keep losing like this without stunting their youngsters’ growth?
Washington, which has lost 12 of its first 13 games, played so badly Sunday that its veterans called a players-only meeting.

I like this version of Scottie Barnes, where he's more of a play finisher than a play starter.

The Kyshawn George secret is out.
Victor Wembanyama is conducting on-court experiments. The Wizards have a gem — maybe more than one. And a team down south has butter fingers.

Time for Friday’s around-the-NBA notebook.

Two Heat thoughts:

1. I dunno what happened to Jaime Jaquez last year but he looks liberated in this new offense.

2. Very curious to see how Tyler Herro fits into this style of play when he's healthy. Can he be decisive off the dribble, or will he bog it down by calling for lots of pick-and-roll?

This is why it's so hard to beat Oklahoma City. They have such a consistent baseline of success with SGA and their defense that they can survive bad shooting nights and/or shaky spells of execution.

Twenty-plus years after losing its broadcast rights to the NBA, NBC is back, with a new era of NBA coverage starting tonight. And that means John Tesh’s iconic theme, “Roundball Rock,” synonymous with NBC’s package in the ‘90s, is back as well. In @theathletic.com:
