US military aid to Ukraine was the single most effective military spending we’ve had since aiding the Mujahideen against the Soviets in Afghanistan. We reduced Russia’s military by like half for circa five percent of the annual Pentagon budget. That’s a goddamn bargain.

OK but the most important thing is that we raised more than $145,000 for student journalism on Duke and Carolina’s campuses. Everyone is a winner when we support these kids in their editorial independence.

On the other hand, I got the sense that they would rather not have NBA All-Star at the same time as the Olympics. A 5 PM Eastern start for NBA All-Star events next weekend is super weird.
I think NBC prefers the overlap. It’s the second straight NBC-broadcast Super Bowl during the Winter Olympics and they’ll have another one in 2030. I suspect they could shift the rotation if they wanted to but like the synergy
Did NBC specifically want the Super Bowl to overlap with the Olympics, or it just so happened they were up in the rotation this year? I thought they had outsized influence over the IOC and broadcasting decisions. Seems odd for them to sacrifice a night of primetime Olympics.
