Wow, huge credit to Katie and the rest of the nutrition team at @centeronbudget.bsky.social. USDA has now issued revised numbers because CBPP caught them either accidentally or intentionally making huge errors that would severely underfund SNAP, in direct violation of court orders.
Damn
Residents of a rural North Texas community who have long complained about noise from a nearby Bitcoin facility lost their effort to regulate the facility after 62% of the 138 voters who cast ballots rejected a proposal to incorporate as a city.
Texas community votes no on incorporating to fight Bitcoin mine
Some Hood County residents wanted the same power that cities have to set noise limits, but did not secure enough votes.

NEW: The US Army website for its bases in Bavaria, Germany told its soldiers and employees that it might need to obtain free food from the German government during the US government shutdown.

The Army later altered publication to remove a list of food banks, but we have the original text here:
US Army Tells Soldiers to Go to German Food Bank, Then Deletes It
The initial 'Shutdown Guidance' for the US Army Garrison Bavaria included instructions to go to German food banks.

Is he confusing South Africa with Cuba now?
Trump: "For generations Miami has been a haven for those fleeing communist tyranny in South Africa. I mean, if you take a look at what's going on in parts of South Africa. Look at South Africa, what's going on. Look at South America, what's going on. You know, we have a G20 meeting in South Africa."
"We can respond to oligarchy and authoritarianism with the strength it fears, not the appeasement it craves."

Defense says that the officer's testimony was "very questionable" because he said the sandwich both exploded in spray of mustard and onions and also landed in its wrapper on the ground.

Everyone should pay careful attention to the Maine voter ID ballot measure (Prop 1). It is on track to lose -- thereby proving that the GOP claims that voter ID laws are overwhelmingly popular is a lie. Perhaps now the legacy media will stop repeating that nonsense.

One kind of sad thing about all the hate rn is that Zohran Mamdani is actually living the classic American dream story. It's what they've told us the United States is all about all our lives. They're the ones who're changing the rules to serve themselves, and we don't have to go along with it.

AOC: We have a future to fight for, and we're either going to do that together or you're going to be left behind. It's not about Progressive. It's not moderate, it's not liberal. This is about do you understand the assignment of fighting fascism right now? And the assignment is you come together…

The last New York City mayoral candidate to secure over 1 million votes was John Lindsay in 1969.

Zohran Mamdani will be the seventh New York City mayor ever to receive more than 1 million votes.
OVER 1 MILLION VOTES.
Ugh. I was a solid no on most of them.

Note two important things here:

Jones defeated an incumbent, AG Jason Miyares.

And, this means one less key AG siding with Trump — and another AG and AG's Office that will be litigating against Trump.
JUST IN: And, a closer race, but a huge result: Decision Desk HQ has called Virginia AG for Jones, the Democrat. election-night.decisiondeskhq.com/date/2025-11...
Jim Jordan was just in CNN talking about how horrible it was in Russia when he competed in wrestling there and how that's that Mamdani will bring to NY because he's a socialist. No one bothered to point out the socialism is not communism.

This is a new low. We just learned that the President is once again REFUSING to fund SNAP despite a court order to do so.

He’s literally holding hungry children hostage to gain political leverage. It's craven and deeply immoral.
