I dislike when people feel like they need to attack someone's credentials when they have bad opinions.

Pirate software IS a game dev. You can't be like "oh he will be a game dev if he releases his own game". Attack his bad ideas / bad faith interpretation of other peoples' words. Don't attack him.

It's so strange how badly the Hawaiian language has been butchered in almost every text written by non-Hawaiian authors, even those trying to be pro indigenous.

Mollison's explanation of the kanaka farming systems uses a bunch of "Hawaiian" words spelled with letters that aren't in the language

a fascinating thing thats happening with these anti immigration crackdowns in the US and UK is how theyre all linked to fears of white womens sexuality in some way.

Yeah - I think theres a lot you have to learn by applying things from the books to your specific system and understanding the development.

I'm brand new to this and I know that every year i'll understand so much more - reading the book is just step 1

Ideally I would just have kept a lot of veggies from the growing season, but between two adults and rabbits we go through a lot of veggies!

I think long term it's mostly going to be for things I can't grow outside, but I'm leaning towards using it as a temporary measure.

Is there much consensus on indoor veggie growing in permaculture? I have a grow tent, lights, etc from a previous project and I'm considering getting some lettuces etc going in it.

Other than the waste of manufacturing (which i accepted when I bought it) the main waste is power.

Yeah, that's exactly the mentality I'm complaining about - it feels somewhere between "dilute progressive movements" and "bad faith cash grab" depending on who is pitching it. It usually has no focus on system health, and is based on short term solutions to long term problems.

I absolutely think people should be able to make a living - my issue is people who are just using it as a buzzword, and their focus is money above all else.
