A weird collection of sentences prone to bouts of whimsy. I write, shoot film, and make art. MFA in Nonfiction from UNM.
Lmfao. Panic refreshing the HAD submission page, because I'm so used to submission windows being in EST (and I'm in the land of make believe MST) that I am actually just off by an hour.

Read Kirsti MacKenzie’s (@keersteemack.bsky.social) wonderful short story, “Eat the Saddle Last,” in The Bulb Region today.

Have a piece inspired by, though in no way connected to or featuring, Doctor Who, and I'm wondering if that constitutes time travel. 😂 It is set in 1974.

Also really stoked to try to cobble a couple other things together for this and see what fits / if I can beat the likely <1 minute window.

Bummed I'm not going to make it to AWP this year, but I will be assisting with felling a dead tree and taking down a Godzilla 99 pack of PBR (amongst a number of other things) in TX instead.

The stationary bikes you can ride at a gym with the little rotating video of roadways in seemingly serene places? Unhinged. Why would you want to see cars on the roads? Do you know how many cars I've been hit by while biking?

Incidentally, I realized I have also reached the age / emotional maturity to cry at a lot of things. I didn't cry while watching Bone Temple last night, but I probably could have (Fiennes' performance was really stellar).
I've reached the age where I sometimes take my glasses off in conversation and put my hand over my eyes.

On January 24th, my parents home burned down. They and my disabled brother escaped with only minor burns but they lost everything they've ever had.

I'm running a GoFundMe to help them recover and rebuild. I would be deeply grateful for any donations but also for any shares!

What's wild about dreaming is that the world can feel like absolute hell, but for some reason you can still end up on a road trip as adults with a friend from high school (who you haven't spoken with or really thought much about in almost two decades) and end up married before you wake up.
