MLK was only 39 when he was killed. Growing up, I thought that was old. But I’m 43 now and I’m stunned by the burden he shouldered at such a young age. I’m also a lot more aware of how hard it is, at any age, to carry the hopes and dreams of an oppressed people on your shoulders, as so many do.

Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don't have any surface noise. I said, "listen mate, life has surface noise."

If your rights are being shredded, your citizenship endangered, if you're attending protests and being gassed or threatened, people calling your life/experience a distraction fucking sucks, actually.

Be kind. These are lives. Talk about issues like somebody else's existence might be on the line.

I have noticed a disturbing number of calls for violence against ICE agents. One word:

DON'T!

Around the world, dictators WANT violence because it provides cover for them to launch massive militarized retaliation. Dictators even stage false-flag operations to provide themselves with an excuse.

The perfect album for a dark evening? Before the Day Breaks.

I like all of Harold Budd and Robin Guthrie’s collaborations. But this one, and its twin, particularly.

Just listened to Blackstar again. It’s still an astounding album. Confident, tight, and self-aware.

His death made it poignant, but it felt exceptionally mature on the day of release.

Under the Treason Felony Act 1848, it is a crime punishable by life imprisonment to intimidate parliament or encourage any foreign power to invade the U.K.

We should be applying this law to every traitor openly calling for the U.S to depose our democratically elected government.

The end goal of Grok sexual harassment is to make women afraid to be visible. It’s a punishment for daring to exist in a way the perpetrators can’t control. There’s no one solution to this, because the problem isn’t just technological. It’s cultural. It’s misogyny. This is just one expression of it.

Personally I found the Stranger Things finale a little underwhelming.

Five seasons of good TV lasting 45+ hours really could have been three seasons of great TV lasting 18-20 hours.

Enjoyed it in the same way I enjoy store-bought cheesecake.
