Reposting my favorites of my fanart. The first two are AU art; the last two are part of my main project "Arikitari Josei Osaka Naru" (set in the 90s anime timeline, about Naru's past life as Princess Osakaite, her life during the anime, and the 30th century). I love Naru/Nephrite and Naru/Umino!

This piece is called "Worth the Wait". An older Naru (mid 30s, like I am) and a revived Nephrite, who is about the age I believe he was in the series (19), stand holding hands. While Nephrite looks the same, Naru's hair is now streaked with gray., her eyes have a darker-lined tone (despite being wide with happy tears), and even her bow is sewn back together; but she is just glad to be with him again after so long. Outside, it's a gray rainy day; a tall, vibrant tree stands next to a shorter, older tree which has started to turn brown. The room is lighter behind Nephrite, and darker behind Naru.

This piece is called "Her beautiful dream to become a nurse". In a dimly-lit dungeon like environment, an adult Naru Osaka is wearing a floor-length white old fashioned clinical dress with black gloves. Her expression, behind her glasses, is serious and focused, a little smile, with an intensity and shadow to her face, a furrowed brow. Behind her is her Dream Mirror, with a dark aura in the reflection; the mirror is cracked and taped back together. Part of her dress is stained red, as is her right hand, which holds a sewing needle, with a thread going down to the forehead of Nephrite, who lays strapped to an adjustable gray operating table. His complexion is greenish gray, with sunken dark closed eyes and a limp posture. One of his legs seems to have been replaced by one of Tiger's Eye's legs. His shoulder is heavily bandaged, leaking green blood through. His right arm has the orange bandage from episode 24. An IV drip line of green blood is going into the orange bandage, and it goes back to an IV bag full of mixing green and red blood; it connects through another line to Umino, who has another orange bandage on his own arm under a ripped-off sleeve. Umino's skin is grayish and pale, his face is covered in stubble, his back is hunched far forward with his shoulders as high as his head, and he has a slightly demented smile. He holds a tray which contains a pure heart crystal (his own). Beneath the operating table is a large circle drawn in blood, with a certain crest symbol resembling the katekana for "Ne", which Nephrite used to summon youmas in season 1. In the far corner of the room, a bloodied saw hangs on the wall with a small teal ribbon tied to it; and a trash can containing the violently-bent remains of Tiger's Eye. A dream mirror (his) sits broken in half, one half falling to the floor next to the trashcan; the broken mirror is more silver and innocent than the darkness in the taped-together mirror. A single fly buzzes in the darkness above the trashcan.

Three images- the past, present, and future. In the past, Princess Osakaite- Naru's past life- holds energy in her hand above a limp Nephrite Knight (Nephrite's past life as part of Prince Endymion's team). Osakaite is crying, and glowing red; the sky has grown dark, and sunspots emerge from the sun above, implying the emergence of Queen Metallia, and the impending doom of the Golden Kingdom and Silver Milennium. In the middle, present image, set after episode 32, Tuxedo Umino Mask returns a certain orange bandage to Naru, who didn't expect to see it again, and is in tears, although Umino is confused what the bandage means to her; will she explain it to him? Lastly, in the future, an adult Naru (now taller, with glasses and sunspots) wraps her arms around Umino's head (he's wearing a "dad sweater" and has a mustache, but otherwise appears the same, even though he's an adult too). Nephrite is bowing thankfully towards Umino, and they're standing in front of his car; is Naru about to go somewhere with Nephrite, with Umino's blessing? Have they worked out some sort of compromise? Who knows what the future holds...

Another three-part image, showing climactic struggles from the past, present, and future. In the past, in a scene mirroring episode 26, Princess Osakaite is rescued by Ullmannite, Umino's past life (as her minion); but he takes a fatal blow from an electric spike in the process. Behind them, the DD girls float above.... surely this ended well. Speaking ending well, the present scene is based on episode 24, as Nephrite pushes Naru aside but takes a spike to the shoulder... lastly, in the future, beneath a blood red moon, Sailor Moon holds Naru, wearing a peculiar winged Sailor Senshi outfit of her own. Naru reaches down off the side of a cliff, clenching and holding up both Nephrite and Umino as they fall in, above spikes in the dark ravine below. Naru is surely thinking: "Not this time...!"

苦手な木材パルプ紙なんだけどまだ扱いやすい気がした
薄めに塗ってるからあれだけど、色は鮮やかに出ます
下の色取れすぎないから重ね塗り&ぼかしは出来る
べっしょべしょに濡らした状態で絵具乗せると凹に絵具入り込んですごいぶつぶつした見た目になって不安だったんだけど、乾いたら問題なく消えた
薄めの水彩紙だからか最初に水吸わせまくった後に使っても結構波打つ

Time to share some commissions I got from other artists!

Naru Osaka / Nephrite (and Gurio Umino) commissions from ArundAmber; these take place post-series once they're all adults.

Naru wears a darker shirt and a long blue skirt, and her hair ribbon is adorned with some small flowers. Nephrite is wearing his classic Masato Sanjoin yellow shirt and white pants.

The two of them seem to be dancing; His left arm is over her shoulder, holding her right hand, while her left hand reaches across her front to hold his right hand, and her skirt is swaying like she's spinning. They're both smiling warmly at one another; Naru is raising an eyebrow, possibly saying something or making a suggestion, and Nephrite seems bemused.

I cannot overstate how much color detail Arund put into these pieces. The sunset lighting really sweeps across the scene highlighting the leaves of the trees and it's a really beautiful moment.

Naru, Nephrie, and Umino sit on an orange-and-white-checkered picnic blanket in a grassy field near a forest.

Naru wears a blue V-neck sleeveless dress (with no shirt beneath), a purple hair ribbon, a black chocker necklace with a purple gem, and a purple bracelet. Nephrite wears his yellow shirt with blue jeans and black socks. Umino wears a white shirt and fit dark-green pants. They all appear older-post series, and Umino's face is quite mature and sharp, with his eyes visible behind his glasses.

In front of them is a basket containing, perhaps, bread and grapes inside, a smaller box of something else.

In the center of the blanket sits a stack of papers; Nephrite is holding one of them up, gesturing to it. The papers are covered in astrological charts. Umino seems to be contemplating Nephrite's discussion of the papers, with his arms crossed and a hand to his chin. Naru watches the two of them with a smile on her face, glad to see them cooperating.

ArundAmber's WIP sketch of the picnic scene. Not too much changed in this one, besides the massive amount of beautiful color detail on everything, but Naru's smile became more emphasized.

A WIP pre-sketch of the Nephrite and Naru scene, featuring a different concept where they sit side by side on a bench (before Arund decided to draw them dancing).

Naru sits with her legs crossed, and her right hand is on Nephrite's thigh. She smiles at him, raiding her other hand and if speaking or making a suggestion. Nephrite smiles down at her, as well. Behind them are shapes that were perhaps to be bushes or trees. I love this scene concept, too, and feel lucky to have both.

I DO have one where Naru is doing her forced smile from the start of episode 26 (the scene early in the episode where she's been staring out at the balcony after missing school for a week), and that card has Zoisite on the back, though....

Realized I only posted this on tumblr the other day and decided to drop it in here too. (Sorry for only posting a low-effort "not what I'm called" meme when I haven't drawn in a while.)

The "Not What I'm Called" meme template, but when Naru Osaka (aka Molly Baker) says "hey guys" and someone points and calls her "SAILOR MOON!!", instead of Naru saying that's not what she's called, she says, "Correct ♥".

...but actually she's called Sailor Earth.

(...Or Sailor Sun. Or Sailor Odyesseus. or Almandite. Or Osakaite.)

This is legitimately really amazing and looks like a ton of work!! Gooseworx mentioned "I Spy" was one of the aesthetic inspirations, so it's really neat to see this. Excited to see future pages if you keep going. The Candy Canyon one is awesome too!
