Naru Osaka, hoping to find a way to revive Nephrite, is lured into the Dark Kingdom by Queen Metallia. Becoming Princess Osakaite, she begins to lose her humanity...

On the left, Princess Osakaite (Naru Osaka) wears a purple dress slightly evocative of Beryl's, with a Shitennou-like collar and chest flap. She has long black gloves, and holds her wrist uneasily, staring away into the fading light through a doorway to the left. Her teal hair ribbon is visible against a dark shadow behind her, which looms over her with an unearthly green light cast upon her. Her expression is a frown, a tight eyebrow, perhaps an uncertain determination to delve deeper for the chance to save Nephrite.

On the right stands an alien figure, emerging from Naru's back. Only by looking closely do we realize that this figure IS Naru, losing her human form and becoming something else entirely. A black leg extends, bent too far, through the split in her skirt, with an extra joint like that used by predatory animals for sprinting, and spikes extend from the back of the leg. From her arm, an enormous black claw extends from the shape of what was once her human hand; spikes from the elbows and shoulders; Naru's face is distorted beyond recognition, the jaw split apart into four long sharp mandibles. The eyes have narrowed, glowing a solid turquoise in darkness. Naru's reddish hair is still visible, though it's color is subtlely contrasted in the dark green lighting; her teal ribbon has changed into something else, floating from the back of her head like some kind of tentacles.

This monstrous figure stares away, deep, into the darkness, where a brilliant unearhtly green glow emeges, around the shapes of flowers-resembling those Queen Metallia grew when possessing Queen Beryl.

The entire scene contrasts the open door to the fading sunlight on the left with the unearthly green glow of Queen Metallia on the right; between them is a black darkness, the monstrous figure in Naru's shadow, what she becomes. The tiled floor cracks along the darkness, giving way to a dark cavern below.

An early sketch ArundAmber did of Naru just to confirm the design. Here we can see the shitennou-like jacket of the dress Princess Osakaite wears, as well as her shoulder freckles on the patch of bare arm between her long black glove and the shoulder of the dress. She looks uncertainly toward the viewer, with a frown.

ArundAmber went all out on this piece, sketching this transformation of Naru's face.

In the upper left, her head is lowered, frowning, looking sad.

In the lower left, she smiles mischievously, an ordinary human face.

In the upper right, her mouth begins to open (perhaps a smile, of a sort?) as her eyes clench shut and her hair and ribbon begin to flow. The lines intensify. Something about the clenched eyes suggest pain, perhaps...

Finally, in the lower right, Naru's face changes completely. We see her jaw splitting open, a reddish glow as something protrudes out of her face, here eyes glowing a bright teal (The only colors in the sketch- very evocative highlighting). Her entire jaw splits into mandibles, like we see on the main final artwork.

I love this one so much too, I asked specifically to include the sketches so I could share this transformation. I love this kind of body horror so much!!

They're both smiling warmly at one another; Naru is raising an eyebrow, possibly saying something or making a suggestion, and Nephrite seems bemused.

I cannot overstate how much color detail Arund put into these pieces. The sunset lighting really sweeps across the scene highlighting the leaves of the trees and it's a really beautiful moment.

Naru wears a blue V-neck sleeveless dress (with no shirt beneath), a purple hair ribbon, a black chocker necklace with a purple gem, and a purple bracelet. Nephrite wears his yellow shirt with blue jeans and black socks. Umino wears a white shirt and fit dark-green pants. They all appear older-post series, and Umino's face is quite mature and sharp, with his eyes visible behind his glasses.

In front of them is a basket containing, perhaps, bread and grapes inside, a smaller box of something else.

In the center of the blanket sits a stack of papers; Nephrite is holding one of them up, gesturing to it. The papers are covered in astrological charts. Umino seems to be contemplating Nephrite's discussion of the papers, with his arms crossed and a hand to his chin. Naru watches the two of them with a smile on her face, glad to see them cooperating.

ArundAmber's WIP sketch of the picnic scene. Not too much changed in this one, besides the massive amount of beautiful color detail on everything, but Naru's smile became more emphasized.

Naru sits with her legs crossed, and her right hand is on Nephrite's thigh. She smiles at him, raiding her other hand and if speaking or making a suggestion. Nephrite smiles down at her, as well. Behind them are shapes that were perhaps to be bushes or trees. I love this scene concept, too, and feel lucky to have both.

Yes please!! I can't usually afford proplicas but I want them to exist. I treasure my two fanmade Kurozuishou (the Black Crystal from season 1 and the PC Engine game). These versions were made by @konmurai.bsky.social and UniqueCosplayProps on Etsy.

I want Beryl's staff though...

Two purple crystals based upon the "black crystal" (kurozuishou) from Sailor Moon season 1 and the Sailor Moon PC Engine Game. In episode 23, it was conjured by Nephrite by destroying his Celestial Globe in an astrological event; Zoisite took it from him, and used it to awaken the 7 great youma, although Naru tried to take it back from him at the graveyard. Later, Beryl gave it to Endymion to try to recapture the 7 great youma, before Sailor Mercury shattered it. However, the crystal returned in the PC Engine Game, along with the Dark Kingdom being revived by Past Wiseman, and the crystal was used for a greater purpose.

Naturally, due to how tangled up it is with Nephrite and Zoisite and Naru, it's probably my favorite plot device item in Sailor Moon. That brief attempt by Naru to fight Zoisite in the graveyard- because she saw him steal it from Nephrite, and she knows he's going to use it for something bad, and, I imagine, because she wants that little piece of Nephrite back for herself- that brief scene lives rent-free in my brain forever. (But also, Zoisite is awesome and that whole arc is great.)

Realized I only posted this on tumblr the other day and decided to drop it in here too. (Sorry for only posting a low-effort "not what I'm called" meme when I haven't drawn in a while.)

The "Not What I'm Called" meme template, but when Naru Osaka (aka Molly Baker) says "hey guys" and someone points and calls her "SAILOR MOON!!", instead of Naru saying that's not what she's called, she says, "Correct ♥".

...but actually she's called Sailor Earth.

Reposting related 2023 art- my friend @iiya.bsky.social and I had an idea about Naru becoming an animamate, and iiya created a design (bsky.app/profile/iiya...), Sailor Copper Squirrel, which I 3D modeled+drew too! I should revisit this concept...

Three panels. In the first, Naru Osaka (in a Juuban High uniform from Sailor Stars) is recoiling with a horrified expression as golden Galaxia bracelets appear on her wrists in a blast of light against a dark shadow. Behind her, a peculiar red glow drifts out from her body (similar to the red glow seen in a scene of episode 23), and an unreadable symbol shimmers on her forehead- perhaps the stirring of some unknown latent power.

In the middle, Naru is now dressed in a Sailor Animamate outfit. Her hair ribbon had grown long like the twintails of Usagi's hair; she has a huge squirrel tail; her ribbon (with small black hearts on it) is also decorated with two strings of copper coins. She has (or perhaps wears?) a pair of suirrel ears. Her overall motif is copper-and-black, with black knee-socks and fuzzy trim, and a bare midriff. Her eyes look depressed and glassy and empty, regretful.

The text reads: "Sailor Copper Squirrel. (Naru Osaka, during Sailor Stars. Galaxia had turned Umino into a phage. "Please, I'll do anything!" Naru said, but...)"

In the third panel with her head down behind her wrists, Sailor Copper Squirrel fires star-seed-stealing bursts of light from her bracelets. Her expression is somewhat hidden behind her wrists, and from what we can glimpse, she seems dead-eyed, like she isn't enjoying this...

In this case it may just be a tattoo, or some other kind of consensual magical mark she wears. In the second image, set in Crystal Tokyo sparking blurrily in the background, Nephrite stands and holds Naru, with her legs wrapped around his middle; they are both naked, and it's a little ambiguous what might be happening down where their groins touch. Their arms are intertwined even as he holds her up, his hand through her hair, as they kiss and both blush. Above them is a mending heart symbol with an orange-bandage.

A polyamorous threesome, with Naru in the middle between Nephrite and Umino. They are all in their 20s (though Umino is still quite short, I swear he's 20 dangit, he just is a little dude and Nephrite is huge, and Naru is a transgril in this piece so she got taller). They share a bed. There are tow versions of the miagel in the left, marked "Naru-vision", Naru has her eyes closed, and she has a vagina which appears to be being penetrated by Umino (while Nephrite appears to be penetrating in the back), and Umino is wearing his glasses. Nephrite is also sparkling in Narui's imagination. However, In the "real" image on the right. where Naru's eyes are open, Naru has a penis, which is rubbing aganist Umino's; Nephrite has not penetrated her either, and is instead rubbing against her back; Nephrite deftly secures Naru and Umino's glasses (even while holding her hand- he's very agile), and Umino looks up at Naru with his real eyes. He has a mustache, too, and they all have pubic hair (which was not visible in the version Naru imagined). Either way, she considers it a perfect moment, and they are all very happy together. Also, the blanket in the corner of the bed resembles a Trans Pride flag; the bedsheets are purple (it's Naru's bed originally); and they each have a piilowcase mraked with their symbols (Umino hasfried shrimp and spirals; Naru has ribbons and suns; Nephrite has his "ne" symbol and red cars).

Naru and Makoto high-five, fully dressed. In the second image, apparently later, they high five again, blushing and naked; between them on the floor lays a very tired-looking face-down Nephrite. Above his head are two herats; one being struck by lighting, and the other mending with an orange bandage. Make love, not ship wars.

An AU or fantasy scene (this does not occur in my main story). Queen Metallia, in her cavernous organ-like form from the Dark Kingdom in the 90s anime, has apparently captured Naru and Nephrite, who are being sacrificed to her in some way. Naru and Nephrite are both suspended by tentacles, reaching out for one another, but unable to touch their hands together. They are both having their clothes ripped apart by Metallia's tentacles, and she has gripped both of them by their genitals, and is penetrating them in the back. Naru also has one in her mouth, and Nephrite's cheek is being threateningly stroked by another. The tentacles appear more bulbous where they penetate; it's unclear whether or not they may be laying some sort of eggs. Naru and Nephrite are both crying and look very upset and humiliated (Nephrite's green blush gives a sickly hue), watching what is being done to one another. Afterwards, in the second image, they are both alone in a room, naked, but together; they hold each other and sob. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you," "...but at least we're together."

Reposting my favorites of my fanart. The first two are AU art; the last two are part of my main project "Arikitari Josei Osaka Naru" (set in the 90s anime timeline, about Naru's past life as Princess Osakaite, her life during the anime, and the 30th century). I love Naru/Nephrite and Naru/Umino!

This piece is called "Worth the Wait". An older Naru (mid 30s, like I am) and a revived Nephrite, who is about the age I believe he was in the series (19), stand holding hands. While Nephrite looks the same, Naru's hair is now streaked with gray., her eyes have a darker-lined tone (despite being wide with happy tears), and even her bow is sewn back together; but she is just glad to be with him again after so long. Outside, it's a gray rainy day; a tall, vibrant tree stands next to a shorter, older tree which has started to turn brown. The room is lighter behind Nephrite, and darker behind Naru.

This piece is called "Her beautiful dream to become a nurse". In a dimly-lit dungeon like environment, an adult Naru Osaka is wearing a floor-length white old fashioned clinical dress with black gloves. Her expression, behind her glasses, is serious and focused, a little smile, with an intensity and shadow to her face, a furrowed brow. Behind her is her Dream Mirror, with a dark aura in the reflection; the mirror is cracked and taped back together. Part of her dress is stained red, as is her right hand, which holds a sewing needle, with a thread going down to the forehead of Nephrite, who lays strapped to an adjustable gray operating table. His complexion is greenish gray, with sunken dark closed eyes and a limp posture. One of his legs seems to have been replaced by one of Tiger's Eye's legs. His shoulder is heavily bandaged, leaking green blood through. His right arm has the orange bandage from episode 24. An IV drip line of green blood is going into the orange bandage, and it goes back to an IV bag full of mixing green and red blood; it connects through another line to Umino, who has another orange bandage on his own arm under a ripped-off sleeve. Umino's skin is grayish and pale, his face is covered in stubble, his back is hunched far forward with his shoulders as high as his head, and he has a slightly demented smile. He holds a tray which contains a pure heart crystal (his own). Beneath the operating table is a large circle drawn in blood, with a certain crest symbol resembling the katekana for "Ne", which Nephrite used to summon youmas in season 1. In the far corner of the room, a bloodied saw hangs on the wall with a small teal ribbon tied to it; and a trash can containing the violently-bent remains of Tiger's Eye. A dream mirror (his) sits broken in half, one half falling to the floor next to the trashcan; the broken mirror is more silver and innocent than the darkness in the taped-together mirror. A single fly buzzes in the darkness above the trashcan.

Three images- the past, present, and future. In the past, Princess Osakaite- Naru's past life- holds energy in her hand above a limp Nephrite Knight (Nephrite's past life as part of Prince Endymion's team). Osakaite is crying, and glowing red; the sky has grown dark, and sunspots emerge from the sun above, implying the emergence of Queen Metallia, and the impending doom of the Golden Kingdom and Silver Milennium. In the middle, present image, set after episode 32, Tuxedo Umino Mask returns a certain orange bandage to Naru, who didn't expect to see it again, and is in tears, although Umino is confused what the bandage means to her; will she explain it to him? Lastly, in the future, an adult Naru (now taller, with glasses and sunspots) wraps her arms around Umino's head (he's wearing a "dad sweater" and has a mustache, but otherwise appears the same, even though he's an adult too). Nephrite is bowing thankfully towards Umino, and they're standing in front of his car; is Naru about to go somewhere with Nephrite, with Umino's blessing? Have they worked out some sort of compromise? Who knows what the future holds...

Another three-part image, showing climactic struggles from the past, present, and future. In the past, in a scene mirroring episode 26, Princess Osakaite is rescued by Ullmannite, Umino's past life (as her minion); but he takes a fatal blow from an electric spike in the process. Behind them, the DD girls float above.... surely this ended well. Speaking ending well, the present scene is based on episode 24, as Nephrite pushes Naru aside but takes a spike to the shoulder... lastly, in the future, beneath a blood red moon, Sailor Moon holds Naru, wearing a peculiar winged Sailor Senshi outfit of her own. Naru reaches down off the side of a cliff, clenching and holding up both Nephrite and Umino as they fall in, above spikes in the dark ravine below. Naru is surely thinking: "Not this time...!"

This isn't part of my main story plans; it's just a fantasy imagined by Naru (as seen in the last picture), in her late 30s. Just something I wanted to make for myself ❤️‍🩹

Inside the chamber of Queen Metallia (1992 anime version), Nephrite and Naru (who is taller than in the series, and has full-body freckles / sunspots) are suspended in the air by tentacles, which are tearing their clothes off. The tentacles hold them up and grip various parts of their bodies, including their genitals. Both are crying, mortified; Naru is blushing red and Nephrite is blushing green. They reach out for one another, but are held too far apart for their hands to reach; they are both crying.

Same as the previous image, except Naru's genitalia are different; she has a vagina instead of a penis.

Naru Osaka, now in her late 30s with gray hair and some age lines on her face, sits in a sexy pose in an intact version of the ripped clothes from the fantasy, imagining it in a heart-shaped thought bubble.
