I made it to the public comment on the final updates to the Seattle One / General Plan yesterday afternoon.

For those who did more than show up 👏🏼 😊 What an incredibly long hard journey. Urbanists agree it doesn’t go far enough, but at least we survived. Let’s all go hug a tree. 🌲

Hmm so this is interesting.

I’m curious to track down the primary source to see what the African Union actually says, since @theguardian.com is a bit off in the reporting here…

Chat “geo folks” GPT helped me come up with algorithms for custom label placement.

I guess asking how to draw radial lines outward from a center point called “brc_man” was a bit of a tell…

ChatGPT is “geo folks” apparently, and thus already knows all about Black Rock City (I did not mention that is what I’m mapping) … #burningman #rstats #cartography #gischat

Pulled some older footage captured in 2022 to compare to now. Never have been in the market with so many others. A million times better and no going back now.

DUMMYMANDER (n): A gerrymander that has narrow margins to electorally benefit the gerrymandering party and has a high probability of backfiring.

AS IN, dear friends in Texas: there is not further the GOP can go to dice left-leaning voters out of existence, or they would.

Finally! Got this uploaded to Bluesky! My favorite photo. I shot this in 2014 in Seattle: the Space Needle as seen from the Chihulu sculpture garden at the Seattle Center. Title: City of Tomorrow. Hope you like it.

Check out my recent redesign of a trail map in an urban watershed near Gaithersburg #MoCo MD. Compared with the maps, redesign is:

✅ More informative and easier to use
✅ Self-hosted and built with open source tools
✅ Integrates into a Wordpress site

A fascinating map from @donnermaps.bsky.social overlaying Tuesday's Dem primary results with a map of the NYC subway system.

Inspired by an astute observation from @kleinman.bsky.social, who noted that Mamdani did better in areas served by the subway while Cuomo did better in car-centric areas.
