This is such great advice! I visited family a few years ago with Henry. I put him in the backyard and then went to grab a glass of water. Low and behold I didn't think about the landscaper. He was there earlier and left the gate wide open. I was lucky. Henry was sitting at the front door.

🍂 Fence Check Friday! 🍂
🧰 Fix/block gaps under fence & between slats or posts & structure.
💨 Wiggle fence posts to be sure they are secured in the ground.
🔐 Lock gate.
🪵 Move items away from fenceline. When snow accumulates/drifts, these can make a ramp for your dog to escape over.

Bricks or blocks make great barriers! And yes, even in a fenced yard, it’s best to be out with them. Not paranoid, but taking safety precautions. 🙌🏼🐾

I love this! When we lived up north, we had concrete blocks that were lined around under the fence. Where we are now, the ground is extremely hard.

I would add on:
Try to just always have sight on your pups. Personally, I'm always outside when they are, they don't leave my sight. /paranoid lmao

This is a fun article that I bet will have you looking at your phone. I admit, I added a few after researching this post. Henry's glad he's protected.

Goodnight, Bluesky! 💙

I hope you will have a bit more time and peace of mind, though of course a change brings new adjustments.

Uh oh, I think a change in the weather is coming. I can see it. Time to leave my old coat all over the house and car to make room for a new one.

Err on the side of assuming there is pain or discomfort, even if you are told there isn’t. Anxiety and fear are physically uncomfortable and even painful.

If you notice a sudden change in your pet's behaviour, you think your dog has separation anxiety, or something just doesn't seem right, make an appointment to see your vet in case there is a medical issue or psychoactive meds might help.
