I’m only 3/4ths through this book, but I’m wrecked. Lots of people have correctly noted that it feels important, but (a) he’s a damn good storyteller, and (b) it’s hard to read this and not constantly see how the attempt to prop up the violence of western hegemony wrecks all our lives

Why are gambling ads everywhere? Every game it’s FanDuel, DraftKings, etc. I’m lucky it’s not my issue, but a lot of people struggle with it. And to those celebs pushing it. There’s taking a check and then there’s putting your face on something that ruins families & lives.

I have a 4PM flight on Monday, got an email saying to show up at 10am the latest to be on standby for any delays, spending the day at the airport is not my idea of fun, especially when it’s a work trip. Also don’t like idea of flying when traffic controllers are a commodity these days.

As a scuba diver who has had (peaceful) shark encounters in the wild, I absolutely do not want operators teaching sharks to associate boats and divers with food.
There are very valid reasons you don’t feed wildlife on land. Don’t start doing it underwater.

Apple & Google were destined to be tied together one way or another...so be it, if it gives us the Siri we have wanted and gave up on long ago.
