RNA-induced PRC2 inhibition depends on the sequence of bound RNA
Methyltransferase PRC2 (Polycomb Repressive Complex 2) deposits histone H3K27 trimethylation to establish and maintain epigenetic gene silencing. PRC2 is precisely regulated by accessory proteins, his...

I strongly disagree with the idea of caps. Caps are always brought up because "mega-labs are bad!!" Regardless of whether they are good or bad, mega-labs are rarely affected by caps. Instead, it is middle-class labs that are shifted towards subsistence. That is bad for the scientific ecosystem, IMO.
Dear @pnas.org ,
I strongly disagree. I believe that in the current funding environment, caps to individual labs and PIs are and would be absolutely crucial for sustaining scientific innovation. Would you consider a counter opinion piece? Who’d be interested in writing one with me?

RNA-mediated double-strand break repair by end-joining mechanisms - Nature Communications
Double-strand breaks (DSBs) in DNA are challenging to repair. Here, the authors show that transcript RNAs impact the DSB repair outcomes in human and yeast cells by promoting NHEJ or MMEJ in a sequenc...

Zhu et al. discovered that tRNAs also play an important role in regulating mRNA degradation during translation. Data revealed that specific tRNAs that decode arginine codons directly recruit the CCR4-NOT complex to translating ribosomes, thereby promoting mRNA turnover.

RNA splicing junction landscape reveals abundant tumor-specific transcripts in human cancer
Li et al. thoroughly analyzed RNA splicing junctions in 34,775 samples and identified
29,051 tumor-specific transcripts that may serve as cancer driver genes, neoantigens,
and circulating biomarkers.
