I've finally finished the picture of this... not-so-fresh... lady. xD
Her name is Okaia, and she's part of a collaboration with a colleague. Okaia will be part of his trading card game.
It's still relatively early days. But I like his enthusiasm and all the ideas behind it.

2020 vs 2025!

I've entered my black and white era apparently.

It's just black text that says "art at beginning of COVID"

A cartoon Lost Dragon from 5 years ago (before he grew ears I suppose) kind of hangs out in a circle while taking some notes. He's wearing vague WWII outfit and I think at the time I was wanting him to be a ball turret gunner. Ball turret gunners didn't live very long and it was a miserable job in WWII. You might as well have had a big target on your face while you froze at altitude. This setting was sort of scrapped-ish.. What I did was incorporate it into other settings and kept some of the aesthetic. Sometimes I draw Lost in an upright form without wings since they get in the way and Superman style flying looks like a human surfboard.

Here in 2025 Lost has grown ears. Very good Lost.

Here you see line art of a dragon's head looking at something fascinating off to the left. He has 3 earrings and a truncated horn.

I draw Lost in a more western dragon format these days (he was never a noodle) rather than the anthropomorphic form. What I'm ultimately trying to do is capture "dragon" in about 7-8 feet so he can interact with human-sized characters without being ridiculously large and throwing the scale of everything else off.

If I recall this was actually an experiment and I took it from a much larger piece that I was working on that also had the rest of his body, but me being me it is now on the "later" pile. How big is the later pile? Let's talk about that later too. With my new schedule and stuff I am getting more consistent with at least picking up art supplies (or digital tools) regularly so I have confidence in years to come.

I'm pretty happy with how far I got in yesterday's stream. I'm not quite finished yet, but I'm really satisfied. I think I'll work on it for another 3-4 hours next Friday, and then I'll be done. :D
