I will incorporate nutrition into my practice by educating my patients on proper nutrition for their health issues. Some patients should follow specific diets because of their conditions & teaching them what foods benefit them more will hopefully cause them to eat better @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

During finals week, I try to look for easy foods to prepare, which causes me to reach for the ramen and mac and cheese. This final season, I'm going to try to meal prep healthy foods that will fill me up & give me energy that I can just quickly pop in the microwave. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

An unhealthy diet of friends is a barrier Im faced with. My friends come over they doordash fast food. It's very hard to say no and sometimes I cave. I try my best to stick to a healthy whole-food diet but its hard when Im constantly surrounded by takeout and fried food. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

A ketogenic or "keto" diet is a high-fat, low-carb diet. It has benefits against diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s disease. During the diet you replace carbs with fat and it causes your body to go into a metabolic state called ketosis. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

To make my food more nutrient dense I have switched from using yogurts with sugars in them to getting plain nonfat yogurt and adding honey to them instead. I also switched from using regular pasta to protein pasta for lunches and dinners. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I recently learned that high fructose corn syrup was introduced into our diets because it was cheaper than sugar. Also replacing high fructose corn syrup with natural sugar does not make the food you eat healthier, especially processed foods. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
