i mean it when i say it's on purpose bc carnation recollection put so much emphasis on mizuki being aware of kanade's current lifestyle being a doomed act of self-harm but she saw her relationship with niigo as transitory at the time so she didn't think she had the right to interfere
mizuki and kanade still don't have a 4* + virtual singer set 5 years into the game but this is for good reasons and it's finally about to change in january

i'm biased but i also just feel like mizuki is one of the best written and realized characters in the game bc even beyond her own narrative she amplifies the reality of other characters through their engagement with isolation and fear, adding a lot to what would be more flat without her implications
