I hate the genAI and industrialisation comparison because the main difference between these things that took peoples jobs is that industrialisation and machineries took over repetitive and often dangerous tasks while genAI shakes artists down for free references to create fake art and take jobs

think i'll revive the zombies on the m25 comic, give it a fresh to rewrite with all my knowledge gained over the last 5 years, get concepting the characters with fresh new looks and at different ages, get some 3D models of cars so I don't have to keep drawing it from scratch

Not been active here much. Been travelling and such. Still arting but sharing mostly with friends. About to enter a very scary new phase of life.

I have a full time job that allows me the freedom to draw what I want (april) and make what I want. Cons cost a lot here but at least I don't have to feel a financial fear if I don't get a con.
I booth because I love it despite all the stress.

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on
