bit unclear what happened here - did six craven cowards discard due process in orchestration with the mayor, or simply do what he wanted out of craven cowardice ?

neither looks great

Mayor Krog also went all-in on imprisoning people for a health issue and forcing them into treatment against their will - an immoral and dangerous approach to substance use that doesn't work and puts the imprisoned at serious risk of harm and increased chances of death upon release.

Mark Carney didn't comment on World AIDS Day until 7 pm last night.

Statement is classic "we need to fix this problem" from the guy leading a government that chronically underfunds the HIV reposnse, most recently as the new budget, and continues to drive stigma and fear through criminalization.

wild that a council that has cranked up the war on drugs and keeps driving people who are homeless further away from health supports just cant find the inefficiencies in health related costs
Coun. Don Vassiliadis asks about the possibility of finding efficiencies and combining services with fire services, whether discussions have been had with the province. Bromfield responds that these have been happening, but there are differences in the scope of practise.

More than 50,000 people died preventable deaths under Trudeau due to Canada's toxic drug supply.

Trudeau's government knew safer supply would save lives and chose not to act.

Carney is making the same choice.

It's intentional.

I am calling on Peterborugh MP @emmaharrisonptbo.bsky.social to show true leadership and vote against her government's tabled budget.

She did not campaign on racist economic policy and amassing weapons of war. I am hopeful that she does not actually support these policies. but the vote will tell.
