That really struck me seeing Tristan at Bayreuth this year; the lighting worked so much better in the house than it did on video.

The Bayreuth Parsifal, on the other hand, was in a box and didn't look any better in person (ignoring AR glasses)

Pic of the stage set for Hadestown. It is reminiscent of a bar, with raised positions for a few band members, small semi-circular risers, tables with chairs folded over them. Lots of wood and neutral colors.

My first time at Symphony Hall in Boston! It will not be my last (I have a ticket for the organ recital tonight, lol)
