Everyone’s talking about the lines for team Canada at the Olympics. But the only Olympic Canada Line I know is the SkyTrain ❤️🚈

The City of Vancouver has just announced all day bus lanes on 49th Ave. Movement strongly supports this as the push for bus lanes on 49th was Movement’s first campaign back in 2023, and we’re excited to see results. The question is: Why only Cambie to Fraser?

How do we feel about this?

All-day bus lanes on Hastings are coming! But only for a tiny section.

Extensive, all-day bus lanes would make bus trips feel more like SkyTrain, and they only need signs and paint.

Did you know: at least 1,240 Metro Vancouver bus stops don’t have benches for waiting riders! 😱

Working with our pals over at @movementyvr.bsky.social, we mapped out where weary soles are most in need of somewhere to sit: https://go.transit.app/vancouver-benches 🍑🪑
The Great Vancouver Bench-marking Project
We asked, you answered. Now advocates are using Transit app data to spotlight bus stops that desperately need seating.

You can help get this poor bus out of the snow! This Wednesday, February 4th, Vancouver City Council will vote on a motion to give snow clearing priority to transit trouble spots. We can't believe they don't do this already.

With municipal elections coming up in October, it's exciting to see candidates in the region are campaigning to win the support of transit riders. There's over 1 million of us, a third of Metro Vancouverites use transit at least once weekly.
There is a way to make Vancouver buses up to 18% faster that no one is talking about.
It does not require digging tunnels.

The solution is hidden in plain sight at our intersections.

Yesterday was the first day of the Main and Broadway road closure, we have lots more to say about that soon. 👀

ICYMI, this is the latest update on the bus lanes planned for Granville.

Slow-walking bus lanes? Although the City of Vancouver has promised to expand bus priority across the city, twice, these projects are getting scaled back and delayed. Promised back in 2023, deadlines are now being shifted into the unspecified future. Read the full article.
