(of course, grain of salt with all of this, but I do find AI to be scary good at some things and absolute trash at others. This Matt guy is kinda an alarmist. Cried wolf already blah blah blah)

We are in the golden age of propaganda, so it's hard to filter anything.

I think this is a good article about AI and what’s coming. I agree with almost all of it and would add my concern with a handful of big tech people in control of the answer machine being real bad.

Same. I was sweating a little, but I did pledge the hardback version and not just a PDF. 😅 it’s been a minute.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

The moment a company's revenue depends on ad impressions, engagement metrics, and user data, the product stops being optimized for you. It gets optimized for advertisers and data brokers. This is just one danger of the surveillance business model.

KMFDM just released a new album. They’ve used the same template and art style for what? 30 years!?

I’m laid up in bed because a colonoscopy had some complications. My friend pointed out the upside was quickly dropping 5lbs.

Made me think. We are all just 5 pound sacks of shit waking around. Puts things into perspective.

I have a problem of watching all the tiny home videos YouTube shows me. I need intervention.

In every episode someone talks about how they are free because they got rid of all their stuff and then spends half the video to showing you all the storage space they have.

Playing CDs in 2026 is surprisingly easy and affordable. You don’t need specialized equipment, and you probably already own something that can do it.

I’m finding it remarkable that this @techconnectify.bsky.social video is showing up in ALL of my newsletters — even the non tech ones. Alec certainly struck a chord with a wide audience. (The last 30 min is what you want to see) youtu.be/KtQ9nt2ZeGM?...

In 1943, musician Woody Guthrie placed a message on his guitar: "This machine kills fascists."

I am part of a group that's shipped half a million free 3D-printed whistles to defend against ICE — 200,000 of them in the first week of February alone.

This is the story of the "Whistle Crew."

I print whistles now. You can too.

Fun fact: The president of Sony BMG's Global Digital Business, who was in charge at the time, not only didn't get in trouble ... he got a promotion. Now he's part of a company that makes AI music. Because why not!? Them darn golden parachutes.

Thinking of starting a YouTube channel and went down the rabbit hole of how to videos. Most of them advise you not to tell your friends and family about it. WTF? Seriously, if your friends aren’t gonna be supportive, they ain’t your friends. Get new friends.
