In other uplifting news, the Doomsday Clock is now set at 85 seconds to midnight, the closest it has ever been. Sigh.

"In every area, we have failed to take the steps that are necessary to reduce risks, and there are new developments in every area that make the risks greater," Steve Fetter said.
“National leaders … must take the lead in finding a path away from the brink,” writes the Science and Security Board in the 2026 Doomsday Clock statement.

“Citizens must insist they do so.”

What I'm listening to today: "War"

Sinead O'Connor covering Bob Marley, stripped down, sharpened, into something like a weapon. This ran live on TV and all anyone talked about was the career-ending final seconds. No one understood why she did it. Child abuse? Absurd

Dear Fellow Canadians,

If we have been listening, Trumpistan has been telling us since he came into office...

CUSMA will not be renewed.

If you own a business, you need to diversify right now.

Stop buying US products.

Stop buying cars manufactured in the US.

Stop visiting the US.

Rana Zaman’s criticisms of Israeli policy and actions in Gaza are not, in any way, an indication of antisemitism, and certainly not a reason to rescind the Peace Award she deserves.
