Happy Feast Day of St Clare of Assisi (d. 1253). Although often remembered by the title she gave herself "la pianticella" ("the little plant") of St Francis of Assisi, Clare is far more than just Francis's understudy. /1

Very pleased to have this week submitted the manuscript of "A Companion to Angela of Foligno" to Brill. I sincerely hope that the book will help to bring the scholarship on Angela in English up to date. The book contains 10 chapters, a preface and an afterword /1 (of 2)

Wonderful time in Antwerp (and Brussels) for the Mystical Theology Network's annual conference hosted by the Ruusbroec Institute. As always, great to see old and new faces.

Now in Nijmegen for a colloquium on Spirituality as Process at the Titus Brandsma Institute.

Returning to Evelyn Underhill and Lucy Menzies ahead of a talk next week.

One delightful thing is that they both dedicated books to each other -- Menzies in her 1928 "Mirrors of the Holy" and Underhill in her 1932 "The Golden Sequence."
