Every problem began as a solution?
Canned vegetables and boxed cake mixes. Those represent the 1950s. Maybe a tomato plant in the summer.
It's the same type of compassion that spurs the 'drink coffee at home and pack your lunch' comments. Yes, those things helped me survive many lean times but they did not make financial room for saving to relocate to a LCOL town.
