But thanks to my commander Klothys's ability I gained 2 life every turn and managed to keep myself alive the longest of the three of us, but once I was the only player who remained I think it only took two turns for the Challenge deck to bring me down.

We played a Challenge deck vs 3 game for the first time, but unfortunately it was too strong for us. I played my land destruction deck Klothys, which was naturally very unsuitable against the Challenge deck (Defeat a God) because it doesn't have any lands.

Had time for a Magic duel (with Vanguard as add-on) tonight between the TV show and the movie. My brother played for the 1st time Anje, the deck I gave to him as a Xmas present, and he crushed Depala (my Dwarves and Vehicles deck) after I had mana issues once again.

.. and a 2 vs 2 where my Obyra Faeries didn't get any black mana and couldn't cast anything with its two Islands on the field. So back to the drawing board for those 2 decks

The two remaining games were frustrating ones that I conceded - a duel where my bro established control against Toxic Ajani (my infect/poison deck) - it could perhaps have been different had I drawn one more green mana...

Game 4, the 1st one today, was an Archenemy vs 2 where I played the two hero decks. It might have been a scheme that gave my bro a 5/5 dragon that decided the game, because then I couldn't attack him anymore and he could start attacking me instead.

It was hard to decide whether you wanted Braids and the plane to stay or not. Eventually the time ran out.

Game 3 was also a mixed 2 vs 2 and a grindier affair, mainly due to the Braids in bro's Ingenious Iconoclast deck and a plane that allowed creatures that dealt combat damage to a player to switch control with a creature that player controlled.

Game 2 was a mixed 2 vs 2 and one of the rare ones where my bro's Wrenn & Six lost - thanks to my Emry's Pithing Needle, and Emry's recursion ability.

.. and that meant that it didn't drew any more cards, and thus couldn't do anything anymore. Then we only had to finish it off before the time ran out, and no issues there.

Game 1 was the 1st one where we defeated a Challenge deck, but we got lucky that I happened to pick my mill deck and drew and cast Mind Funeral, because that meant that the Challenge deck lost its library right away (since it didn't contain any lands)..

Some Magic this weekend - we played 3 games on Saturday and 3 today. The Saturday games went better for me.

..activated Miracle and cast it, and had Liliana's Caress on the field, which resulted in massive damage to her and victory for me

..but instead she cast Expel the Interlopers and chose 2, which killed all my creatures but also her own commander (because it was boosted with +1/+1 counters), so she wasn't able to attack on that turn with her defenders. Then I got lucky on my turn and drew Reforge the Soul..

Played a duel with Archenemy schemes that turned out a bit crazy. Gf played the WBG version of my defender/walls deck with Felothar as commander while I was on my discard (Winter) deck, and in retrospect it looked like she would've been able to bring me down with one big attack..

A shame it came to this, now it feels like only 10 % of all players are actually building decks

He gets one more deck to play and I get to play against one more deck, so it's a win-win. 🙂 According to Moxfield it's currently worth about €150 but I suppose there are some proxies in it...

Quite a major "shift" in our Magic hobby.... I gave my Anje deck as a Xmas present to my brother! I would like him to have more decks and also more varied decks, and he stated this deck (and Emry) is the most interesting of mine. moxfield.com/decks/OBov01...

Played a duel with Planechase, I played my coin-flipping deck and happened to get synergy going with the most important card in the deck, Krark's Thumb. My gf's Vito didn't really have answers.

In the 2nd one I tried to disrupt her Tannuk Landfall with my Treefolk & Shamans deck the best I could, but my own game never really got going, and then she happened to draw the Scapeshift and had 13 lands to sacrifice...

Played two duels with Planechase
In the 1st one I was on my Elves deck and gf was on Dressed to Kill, but there was some confusion at the end, so at first we decided not to count it, but after looking at it more closely it emerged that gf wouldn't have been able to prevent my victory anyway..

Abandoned the 2 v 2 because realized we had misplayed earlier - with bro's Teferi out I wasnt able to cast an instant during his decks' turns. This wd've altered game in my favor because I wd've then cast the instant in response to him casting Teferi instead
