.. (both of us could cast our own copy of the commander though). For some reason the match went much better for my bro than for me, he got some great synergy running, while I ended the match with just a land. The mode was pretty cool though and looks like it will become one of our regulars!
My bro was playing 2 of his best control decks, Wrenn and Six and Dack Fayden, so I conceded after maybe 5 turns

Duel with shared deck without add-on: 1st ever match with this new mode, we were both playing my coin-flipping deck Yusri, so we drew from the same library and had a shared graveyard..
2 vs 2 with Vanguard: Different than previous game. My bro got suitable Vanguard cards for his decks, while my cards seemed to just make my decks worse. Sapling of Colfenor (my Treefolk & Shamans deck) got one that gave its creatures haste but it had to bounce a creature each turn.
My life total was getting low though but managed to tutor for Academy Manufactor which produced Food tokens from which I got more life. If we counted right, got 20 Squirrel tokens for each life in the end. 😄 But didn't have to wait until next turn for my kill because found Blasting Station too. GG..
..which meant I got a treasure token for each life I paid.
That allowed me to cast Fecundity as well so then I also drew a card for each life. I then cast Doubling Season, which made the whole thing harder to calculate - I think I got 2 treasure tokens, 4 squirrel tokens and one card for each life
2 vs 2 with Vanguard: my bro's 1st game with Vanguard. Vanguard cards didn't really make any mark, except maybe for the fact that my Fungus deck Chatterfang's card allowed it to start the game with 38 life. I started the 4th turn with Chatterfang and 1 Fungus out, and tutored out Warren Soultrader..
.. My Defender/Walls deck Arcades provided the muscle (swinged suddenly for 18 points of damage one turn), and my bro's Wizards deck Azami provided a bit of both, though both were slowed down by Overburden as well. But it was enough
1 vs 3 with Archenemy: my "bounce" deck with Jace Beleren as its commander this time provided control - especially Overburden, an enchantment that forces players to bounce a land when they play a creature, slowed the archenemy, my bro's Emmara, down...
Played 5 matches this weekend.

"Mixed" 2 vs 2 with Planechase: swayed back and forth but none of the decks managed to get too dominant, so time ran out and it was a draw.
We had time for some Mtg tonight - decided the mode randomly again & played a 2 vs 2 with Planechase & "mixed" teams. My poison deck Toxic Ajani managed to bring down Azami (my bro's new Wizards deck) quickly, and then only my land destruction deck Klothys was left. It never got going (as usual😒)..
Normally I like white border but have to say I think 9th ed is ugly 🤭
We tried another Magic add-on, Vanguard, which is pretty simple, but my girlfriend was unlucky and got a Vanguard card that randomly switched control of two random permanents during her upkeep, so she lost one of her two lands and instead got one of my non-land permanents that were useless for her.
Probably last #MtG game on the balcony this year, I was on #Anje and defeated girlfriend who was on "Dressed to Kill".
Played a #MtG duel using #Planechase. The new version of my Charge deck using the spacecraft #Inspirit as its commander debuted, but unfortunately it was crushed by my girlfriend's #Minotaurs, well assisted by a #Devil #Detective...
.. didn't draw more lands with topdeck cntrl and my Omo's islandwalking Merfolk gave AE a beating
.. and my Emry (now with Sai as commander) had only 2 mana and drew only 3+ mana spells. Played outdoors actually

My Tamiyo was AE in 3rd one, and though managed to bring down Wrenn & 6, it had done enough to disrupt mana base. Other heroes handled rest, my bro's Ashiok's Lantern made sure I...
Played 3 games this weekend, all 1 v 3 Archenemy (decided randomly as usual)

Time ran out in 1st one but was 50 % chance I as AE wd've killed strongest of hero decks (my bro's Theft deck). Might not had time to kill others anyway

2nd was more uneven, my bro's Fateshifter as AE dominated...
Thanks to a plane I had played her Exquisite Blood which gave me 23 life when she paid 23 life, but it wasn't enough to save me
Gf won 2nd game, playing Vito as in 1st. Got combo with Sheoldred + Enduring Tenacity + Necrodominance which meant she paid 23 life to go down to 1, drew 23 cards, gained 46 life (2 for each card), which meant I lost 46 life.
Played 2 duels today

1st was fun, were both getting killed by plane & was matter of who going down 1st. Gf was gonna survive 1 more turn thanks to creature giving 1 life on upkeep, so I wd've lost instead but was able to kill creature & all lands. Game ended with my 5 insects as only permanents
Hmm, noting it down for my Toxic Ajani infect deck.
Wish Wizards would develop a good teamplay format, or it would become popular among the public in the same way EDH did. Teamplay is an excellent way of playing the game.
The match was close to becoming a draw anyway because we had few but long turns, but in the very last minute my mill deck was able to bring the remaining deck on the other team (my brother's Wrenn and Six) down.
My Elves deck was going to turn the game around by casting Overrun and making a big counterattack, but my bro was extremely lucky with his Ingenious Iconoclast deck and drew exactly the card he needed, Mount Doom, to be able to deal my Elves deck the single point of damage needed to bring it down.
3rd game, 2 vs 2 Planechase and mixed teams, ie. both of us playing deck on each team, was different and had fewer turns because my mill deck was able to set up clock on other team with a flying Jace's Phantasm and a Wight of Precinct Six (boosted to 5/5 and abt 10/10 by milling) applying pressure
