Wuthering Heights (2026) is so bad I will probably devote 7-13 seconds each night for the rest of my life to seething about it

Today for @hipstersofthecoast.com I wrote about Lorwyn’s seductive violence and how we can see it evolve through illustrations by Steve Prescott and Evyn Fong (@evynfong.bsky.social).

Give it a read!

this took me time to take (like a poplar digesting photons into ringed wood, perhaps?), and l’m going to share it again because it’s well worth your time.

Andrew’s writing is the stuff I dream about but can rarely find in myself or in the world: a poetry of creation—of ink on cards and human lives

Lemme tell ya right now, if you've been looking for a lil publication that puts out best-in-class Magic writing with the same level of reverence as good sports or pop culture outlets, you are going to have a very exciting late February and March.

Opening 5 commission slots for February in order to fund art supplies and token printing fees for Shoebox.

$50+price of card if I don't own a copy. Includes shipping straight to you.

These will likely be the only commissions I take through March because of time.

really cool the visual storytelling you miss, but also unintentionally process, when you only see an image at card size.

I had no idea the lizard was separate from the tree until now—but that’s the POINT! the tree stretches out like a tail: the land and the creature are extensions of each other

And you get to see (and think through) more than 10 pixels of Providence of Night's stunning art! Read it now! 💜💜💜
I wrote abt Justin Gerard’s “Providence of Night,” one of my favorite new Lorwyn illustrations—one that, with the scale of Arena images, is *hard* to see.

The painting’s both an achievement of world building and an object lesson in looking. Give it a read!

So now you can find it on my own site! ravnicanreadingnook.com
