The reality:

Japanese expats in China are facing discrimination, violence - up to brutal killings throughout the last time.

And now the CCP comes, and tells you lies turning reality *exactly* upside down.

Signature move by them. And I'm so sick of it.

We may not know our neighbours' names or socialise with them but Hongkongers will help complete strangers when the need arises. I've seen it time and time again. Including in 2019.

#Taiwan VP Bi-khim Hsiao went shopping at a 🇯🇵 store in #Taipei "to support Japanese seafood and Japanese goods 😻"

The hashtag #TaiwanJapanFriendship ( #台日友好 ) was used.

Among her purchases were #scallops advertised with a drawing of President Lai Ching-te, a nod to his #sushi lunch the other day.

Mit seinem "Hobby" die NINA App in ganz Köln auslösen zu lassen, muss man auch erstmal schaffen.

Hoffe die Nachbarn finden schleunigst eine halbwegs akzeptable Übergangsbleibe.

Quite interesting guess from Arthur Ding, a professor at the NCCU.

But another guess: as Trump spoke to Takaichi - maybe his next stunt will be claiming "ending the war between China and Japan".

(sort of a joke, but with the orange nitwit everything is possible)

Ok. This isn't mostly about cycling.

Rather a quite good travel documentary with everyday life in Taiwan, but done in the typical calm NHK style.
NHKs "Cycle around Japan" just released an episode about cycling around Taiwan.

Could be just coincidence - or some soft power eye wink😂

(actually I don't like videos of cyclists "travelling" without luggage, but I appreciate the images)

Just preparing Sanpeijiru from Hokkaido, but with some herbs borrowed from Taiwanese medicine soups.

Works great.

Quite some heavy psych/doom with partial semi-comical metal grunts thrown in.

Loving it.

The bully is crying obviously big faked tears - while also pointing guns at the same time at other.

If this would be a movie - then Fu Cong would not only be one of the worst actors, but also performing in the wrong movie.

An overlooked part of Taiwan's colonial history is that the Latin script arrived long before any Chinese, brought by European missionaries during their brief colonial attempts, but adopted by some Indigenous languages for long after
"Taiwan is home to over 20 living languages, and many of them don’t require a single Chinese character. In fact, some of the most vibrant linguistic revival movements happening on the island right now rely largely on extended Latin alphabets," says 姜呈穎 of JustFont.

The Japanese PM did not do rhetorical adventurism over Taiwan, nor change Japan's stance on Taiwan. She stated the obvious, which is a blocus or a military invasion of Taiwan by China would impact Japan's national security (all while answering a question in Parliament, as suited in a democracy).
Xi Jinping has no tolerance for rhetorical adventurism from other countries on Taiwan. Relations between China and Japan may well get worse before they get better
