I'm sure a few ICE agents suspect this already, but it seems very clear that DJT, Miller & Bovino WANT an ICE agent to get killed. They need their own martyr. There is a reason they are putting them in increasingly volatile situations.

Your choice to not only weaken LD 1971, but to sit on it until shortly after announcing your run for Senate, presumably to use it to gain political points, means it is not going into effect until after the current legislative session closes, as ICE has come in full force to brutalise Mainers.
#MEpolitics: Important context - LD 1971, the bill limiting state cooperation with federal law enforcement that Gov Mills is alluding to in this post, will not actually go into effect until later in 2026 because she refused to sign it in to law when it passed the legislature in June 2025.

I will give Suozzi more credit than he gives himself. He knew what the vote was. He just figured the way to "win" was to support the funding because that's more "centrist" and buck the Democratic majority. But morally, he knew what this was about. He ended up wrong morally AND politically.
