Okay, I was getting worked up, but I've decided to lean back on humor because this is what's gonna get me through it. I present to you: Sometimes you have to TAME your BRAT (or how to notice and deal with disruptive behavior from individuals in an equity training who don't want to do the work).
A graphic in white pale yellow, and purple. The title says Sometimes you gotta tame your brat! Text says Recognizing the BRAT process. Beseech: Requesting real-world examples. This is a legitimate ask, but you may be dealing with a BRAT if the requests are endless. There are limits. Reject: Rejecting real-world examples and claiming that it’s a threat to psychological safety to use the examples because it hurts feelings instead of emotionally regulating. Apathize: Becoming apathetic if the very specific real-world example doesn’t apply to them without getting curious about the lessons the example provides. Trivializing the specific example if they don’t see how the continual experience of it could be harm without getting curious about the lessons the example provides. At the bottom is the logo for Mx. Chris Talbot. A graphic in white pale yellow, and purple. The title says Sometimes you gotta tame your brat! Text says Disrupting the BRAT process. Temper: Tempering expectations of the amount of labor you will do or the bratty behavior that will be tolerated when there appears to be a willful BRAT interruption. Assert: Being more assertive regarding the group guidelines, the expectations, the amount of disruption that will be tolerated, and/or the meaning of words as necessary. Manage: Managing the group so that a brat doesn’t overrun it with BRAT behavior. Provide homework to the brat while keeping the rest of the group on track. Extricate: Removing the brat from the group so their derailments don’t stop the rest of the group’s learning. Leave it up to the leadership to deal with the brat outside of the group’s time. Heritage Foundation has released an absolutely insane policy proposal to label all trans people as domestic terrorists. It uses completely made up instances of terrorism and made up statistics but facts don't matter to them.

They want us all eradicated.
Page 1:
Flyer from The Heritage Foundation Oversight Project titled “Transgender Ideology-Inspired Violent Extremism (TIVE): Background and FAQs on Need for an FBI Domestic Terrorism Designation.” The page defines “Transgender Ideology” and “TIVE,” outlining beliefs allegedly associated with them. It claims such ideology justifies violence against opponents or frames opposition as violence. The text references the alleged assassination of Charlie Kirk, urging the FBI to classify TIVE as domestic terrorism. Page 2:
Continuation of flyer with a section titled “Recent Instances of TIVE-Motivated Acts of Domestic Terrorism.” Lists multiple violent events from 2018 to 2025, attributing them to transgender ideology. Includes mugshots of two alleged attackers. Followed by a “Frequently Asked Questions and Key Terms” section, addressing whether transgender people are terrorists, comparing TIVE with “Nihilistic Violent Extremism,” and discussing FBI designations.
Page 3:
Flyer continues with questions about Antifa and FBI terrorism classifications. States that Antifa and TIVE are separate categories. Lists ways the FBI classifies domestic terrorism and identifies typical characteristics of “TIVEs,” such as targeting Christians, mental illness, and online radicalization. Includes images: a “Trans Antifa” logo, a pink-blue-white-striped slogan image reading “Protect Their Right to Exist,” a photo of Audrey Hale with a firearm, and a close-up of a magazine with the words “Where is your God?” Page 4:
Section titled “Terminology Used by TIVE.” Defines terms including cisgender, deadnaming, Gillick competence, misgendering, “Right to Exist,” “Trans genocide,” and a phrase “You either have a live boy or dead girl, you choose.” Each is presented as terminology used in or associated with TIVE. Page layout is text-heavy, no additional graphics.

The other day, I told my partner the story of how everything changed in 5th grade, how I was exiled from the friend group for being a dictator...

Read more of "Wounds of Gold" by Victoria Derr Valencia in The B'K Mag, Vol 16, Issue 3: www.talbot-heindl.com/bitchin_kitsch
Image is the cover art by Jennie Cao which features double green self-portraits of the artist where one is whispering into the other's ear. There is a bright sunset and a stormy ocean behind them. Text overlaid is the exerpt of Victoria's piece.

This is the only way this "story" should be reported.

I have to amend my bias and concede that it isn't just white people who weaponize their faux "fear." But it is shameful that a Black man would do so, considering how much he's probably experienced it from white people himself.

The 12th annual international Gender Census 2025 is now open until at least 30th August 2025!

survey.gendercensus.com

It's for anyone whose gender (or lack thereof) isn't described by the M/F binary. It's short and easy, and results are useful in academia, business and self-advocacy.
Title: Gender Census 2025.

Text: If you can't easily put yourself into just one of these two boxes, you are invited to take part.

Illustration: Two boxes, each with photos of relevant dictionary pages.

If you have any leads of where they could go before July 25, that would be amazing. There are no pets, so I'm hoping placement will be easier. Please also share widely so we can get this neighbor housed!

(For reference, we discussed The Gathering Place, Elati Village, and The Delores Project.) /end

They are also in the process of applying for disability, but don't currently have Section 8 vouchers.

I have sent them the information to apply for the Emergency Housing Vouchers, but they don't have that yet either. 2/

It also appears this could be a site-killing hack - it appears nobody updated anything since 2016, and the leaks are basically showing the security holes were security canyons. Almost every user is now compromised. 4Chan is fucked.

Long story short - the hackers are a group of shithead former Channers with an axe to grind against the current 4Chan. There are no heroes in this story - just a slap fight between awful people.

Rep. Zooey Zephyr - My Wife - just gave an incredible speech against a drag ban in Montana. It was so strong that a Republican rose to speak passionately against the bill, chastising the sponsor.

The drag ban dies in Montana, flips 10+ Republican votes!

This is the power of representation.

For a lot of people, it's a lack of access and consideration that disables them. It's about the physical and cultural environment of a space in relation to a person/persons lead to disenfranchisement.

To quote them directly "it's not about numbers, but about power and equity"

@mxchristalbot.bsky.social's latest CCF article mentioned shifting their language from minority to minoritized to distinguish between systemic marginalization of a group rather than being in a group where their identity is not the most represented.

It made me think of the social model of disability

I just mailed my paperwork for an updated birth certificate with my updated name and gender marker! I'm glad my birth state has this as an option now. It didn't when I first changed my gender marker. And it's important when the federal chain of paperwork is fucked up.

The hospital protests worked! Keep doing them!

That they see these as mere symptoms or provisional distractions and not as primary contradictions is a failure of their thinking that has left them unequipped to confront this historical moment.
