"Bananas and tomatoes". I popped into a local art gallery whilst on my lunch today and was immediately struck my this piece. I can't imagine what this combo would taste like....

I love how the white man is kneeling in what can only be described as subservience 😀

Absolutely.
Predictions are a risky business but right now, I don‘t see Farage in Downing Street. I see a hung Parliament where 5 different parties get 15-20% of the vote. And then what?

Think an underpriced 2029 scenario is "ungovernable mess".

Four parties within a 5 point swing of first place and five parties on 12% plus.

This would be pure chaos under first past the post.

Another throwback to a few months ago when the weather was much warmer. Not sole was seen in the wooded area - which considered how beautiful and tranquil it was I was somewhat surprised.

In 1996, Brewster Kahle wrote "Preserving the Internet" for Scientific American. Nearly 30 years later, it’s striking how many of his predictions about digital preservation came true—and how many challenges remain.

Let’s compare 1996 vs 2025 🧵
Page from March 1997 Scientific American featuring Brewster Kahle’s article 'Preserving the Internet.' Text describes the Internet Archive’s mission to save digital information. Includes a photo of a Smithsonian exhibit with 1996 U.S. election web memorabilia.

In short the state isn't a barometer of morality.

Honestly the point at which you need a spreadsheet to track your mistresses is the point you need to pack it in

The visible glans could mark the male as overtly sexual, which was inappropriate for boys and youths in public.

Submissive / erotic control – in sexual relationships between older men and adolescent boys (the erastes–eromenos structure), erection was not appropriate for the submissive role.

The aforementioned disused water treatment plant - and yes, I did creep inside fully in the nude - not knowing what I would find inside, in hindsight this was probably not a wise decision. Possibly one of the most creepy places I have visited.

I can't remember when this was but if I was to hazard a guess I would say at the tail-end of summer. The was a fairly long path surrounded as you can see by foliage on either, and leads to a disused water treatment plant. I passed one male couple out on a stroll other than that, no one.

I recently read an interesting article a few months ago - perhaps last year, in the Journal of Folklore on the development of modern Japanese myths. If I still have it, I'm happy to share.

My next #MythologyMonday book recommendation is 'The Book of Japanese Folklore' by Thersa Matsuura (@uncannyjapan.bsky.social). It introduces a collection of yokai with Thersa's wonderful storytelling and gorgeous illustrations by Michelle Wang. She's also got a #yokai oracle deck on the way.
Front cover of 'The Book of Japanese Folklore' Illustration of a white nine-tailed fix and red torii in a forest. Illustration of a tengu, winged being with long red nose. Open page of book with text about bakeneko and nekomata and illustration to match.

Fully agree - naturism is about embracing all the body's idiosyncrasies and being at one with your own eroticism in a non-sexual way. When I speak of eroticism I am talking about a transcendence of the physical with nature.

I will confess, I noticed the clouds first but my second observation not perhaps surprisingly was the erect appendage, my eye naturally gravitates to that region first - then I see the whole....
myceliummiscellany.bsky.social
Erections are absolutely fine. However context and intent are the key, especially "out in the wild". If you are sporting an erection but you ignore it fine (although you may wish to consider covering up when you see non-naturists). If you draw attention to it and make lewd comments etc, not fine.
myceliummiscellany.bsky.social
There is also a double standard - there is rarely if at all the same ostracism for erect nipples, which can't be controlled. Granted an erect nipple isn't as "threatening" as an erection - no one has ever been raped by a nipple but what should matter isn't perceived threat but on the actual action.
myceliummiscellany.bsky.social
Absolutely - but sadly many naturist clubs and society in general don't share these views and frequently ostracise this natural reaction. I can see why - it is often a visual indicator that the male is ready for sex, and indeed wants it. To women esp. on their own this is understandably problematic.
