Dec 4 1969, Fred was killed in a predawn raid on his Chicago apartment, which also claimed the life of Mark Clark and injured others. The police falsely claimed a shootout occurred, but ballistics experts found only one bullet from inside the apartment, and bullet holes were proven to be nail holes.

Today we honor and remember Fredrick Allen Hampton, a revolutionary socialist who led the Chicago chapter of the Black Panther Party. He founded the Rainbow Coalition to unite gangs and fight for social change. Fred aimed to use his pre-law education to combat police brutality. #black #history

I believe the ultimate goal of being an adult—and more specifically, a Black person—is to lean into who you are, what you like, and what sets your soul on fire, naturally and authentically, beyond the bounds and indoctrination of Whiteness (anti-Blackness), religion, and oppressive traditions.
