Russell Vought's mother's first husband was Robert "Bob" Bloxham Marston. Why would further details be of interest? When researching genealogy, I cast a wide net. I've learned many important things this way. Often things I didn't expect. 1/x

Russell Vought's mother, Margaret Louisa Flowers, was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1930, in the hospital on the Emory University campus. Her parents were James Jonathon Flowers Jr and Frances Louisa Anderson. When she was 3 her parents welcomed her brother. 1/x

When I set out to research Russell Vought's genealogy, I didn't expect it to be one of the most interesting I've ever explored. But over and over again I found things that made me shake my head or jump up from my desk in surprise. And I still haven't gone that deep. 1/x

After Kat Cammack's egregiously racist recent remarks, I started her tree. Hoo boy. Will take a minute for pertinent ancestry. BUT incidental finding, she's actually related to her mentor Ted Yoho, by marriage. I can't find anywhere she's disclosed that little nepo bit.

October 11, 1897. Speaker Mike Johnson's great grandfather Salvatore Messina arrives in the port of New Orleans. He gives his previous residence as Cefalù, Palermo, Sicilia, Italia. Between then and death in 1931 in Shreveport, I find claims but no Naturalization records.
