As the once manager of a historic former flour mill, I’m always drawn to places where the tradition still thrives. One such gem is Worsbrough Mill near Barnsley, a working watermill on the River Dove producing premium organic flours. Milling here goes back to Norman times. The

The Dentalux toothbrush shown here and found last week is from the cargo ship Wec Van Eyck, which lost a container of Lidl goods bound for Spain in Feb 22. Many years ago, a friend found 100s of unused toothbrushes washed up. He told us he had a lifetime's supply for his family.

Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals.

Tory peer Michelle Mone - who today lost her legal case & must repay the govt £122m - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’.

What, Michelle? 🧵

"The IEA estimates that datacentres’ total electricity consumption could double from 2022 levels to 1K TWh in 2026, approximately Japan’s level of electricity demand"

What little progress we make to stem the tide of climate change is being squandered on AI. The whole enterprise should be dismantled

Apropos of universities jumping on the AI bandwagon. Are we not supposed to be, you know, trying to come back from the brink of extinction? Rather than increasing emissions by 50%? FIFTY per cent? Delusional.

Targeting archaeological heritage is a war crime and a significant facet of genocide. It is a clear attempt to deny Palestinian identity and right to their deep connections to place. Solidarity to those in the ground trying to protect Palestinian heritage.

Glass furnace alert! 🔥🍷

We did it! We finished building our glass furnace @butserancientfarm.co.uk!! And what a handsome creature it is too. 😍 We can't wait to fire it...

In other news, if anyone has a *normal* curator and would like to swap, please DM us.

I remember when I were a lad, the Neolithic was peopled by peaceful hippies who grew crops, erected stones, and were generally nice to each other. Well not any more, sunshine 😁

While researching my novel 1983, which is based on the Nottinghamshire mining village where I grew up, I had a weird memory of a man who used to take his cow for a walk around the village, like it was a dog.

"Have I made that up?" I wondered.

So I checked my mum and dad's old photos.

I hadn't.
