I run a cash-based business and declare literally every penny. When people (a surprising number) tell me I'm a fool, I tell them I use roads to reach customers. If something's stolen I'd call the police. If staff were ill, I'd want the NHS to make them well again. Sometimes I feel they get it.

Why was everyone in *Civilisations: Rise and Fall* dressed like they were in a 1950s Hollywood epic?

Stilicho looked like Richard Burton in *The Robe* with muscled cuirass and pointless wrist guards rather than in long sleeved tunic and big chonky brooch

Who was the historical advisor on this? 😱😱

I’m a past winner of the Orwell Prize & won partly because I exposed Vote Leave’s unlawful activities.

Michael Gove was its co-convener & refused to answer a single q. He’s now a judge of the prize & our world is truly one that Orwell would recognise

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

BBC does a programme on Ancient Egypt, gets in "experts" who know absolutely nothing about the period such as Daily Heil-scribbling Thatcherite revisionist shithouse Dominic Sandbrook and *checks notes* Alastair Campbell. No, me either.
Does BBC Civilisations get its four stories of collapse correct? Experts weigh in
The new series attempts to chart the fall of four major empires but doesn’t always get it right.

Needless to say, this story is nowhere near the front page of the BBC website despite only being posted 4 hrs ago. So where have the BBC put a story about Farage, an MP who leads a Westminster party and whose seat is in Essex? In the "Wales" news section, obviously
Reform UK's Nigel Farage challenged by BBC reporter over school racism claims
Nigel Farage insisted he has never engaged in 'direct, personal' abuse, following accusations of racism.

"Higher-end vehicles account for about 50,000 of the vehicles ... with customers paying the additional cost for a premium vehicle using their own money." So despite the fact that having more expensive cars costs the public purse nothing, it's going to be scrapped. What is WRONG with thse people???
'Premium' cars like BMW and Mercedes cut from Motability scheme
Motability says it will provide vehicles that meet disabled peoples' needs and are safe and affordable.

Watching Civilisations: Rise and Fall on the BBC and we wonder why there are 1st century AD legionaries in late 4th century Rome 🤔

Ok so armour and uniforms could last a long time, but isn't this like having the 1640s Parliamentarian New Model Army defend London during the Blitz?
