I always enjoy Jessica DeFino’s writing on beauty standards.
Photos of myself make me shudder in horror. Does that mean I’m hideous?
Obsessing over pictures of yourself isn’t necessarily superficial. It’s almost inevitable, writes advice columnist Jessica DeFino

The grammar nerd in me becomes irrationally angry when the movie ads say, “In theaters only on Christmas Day.”

My Rep!
Democratic Rep. Sean Casten tells NBC News he will still attempt to force the House to vote on making the Ethics Committee's Matt Gaetz report public.

"It remains important that the Gaetz report be made available to the American people." www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...
Could Matt Gaetz decide to keep his House seat? It's complicated
After former Rep. Matt Gaetz withdrew his name from consideration to be attorney general, questions still swirl about the ethics investigation into him and his political future.

It's gaslighting to tell people they are somehow weak and seeking an echo chamber if we block them for being shitty to us.

Attention should be earned, and this era of people feeling entitled to be horrible to others has proven that many folks do not deserve our attention, time, or energy.

Happy to be following all the people who want positive change.

I’m hoping we can find ways to make an impact on the political landscape but also in our everyday lives. It starts small and at home.

I made an early exit from Twitter, but back in the day (2010s) I was @almostfancy, and later @disguisedrebel.

I took it all a bit too seriously at the time. Will not repeat that mistake (again).

Looking to follow accounts that discuss politics, sustainability, and feminism. Not interested in anyone who dabbles in conspiracy theories.

I would also love to find people who report on mis/disinformation.

What are your recommendations?
